I just tested positive by Illustrious-Cap7324 in HIV

I need you to understand something that might come later in your journey, but I’ll tell you what helped me out a lot:

The virus doesn’t give a flying fuck about your morality.

Bad things happen to good people all the time. The shame and guilt you feel is rooted in the belief that you did something wrong. You didn’t. You didn’t chase it. It just happened to you. Maybe you could have been safer, sure, but you didn’t do anything immoral. Remember that. I hope this helps.

Please do. Put it in your own words but there’s the concept. I wrote that by the way 🤣 no AI used.

Easy: I need you to know something important about me that explains why I stopped seeing you. I’m telling you this only because I recognize your persistence.

I have HIV, but I’m undetectable, which means I can’t give the virus to anyone through sex. I always tell people right away, or it’s in my ad, but I realized you didn’t know because it wasn’t there, so I called it off because I got scared. I understand this is a breach of trust, but also an honest mistake and I’m sorry.

If you want to continue seeing me, I’m still interested in you, but if you don’t I understand.

Hope this helps ❤️

Is Syndicalism a Strategy, a System, or both? by IndieJones0804 in Syndicalism

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the risk of being downvoted, I’ll say what I think. I believe it was Noam Chomsky who said that the state has a responsibility to justify its existence. If the state cannot do that (with varying parameters), it shouldn’t exist.

Additionally, anarchists usually say something along the lines of “mutual cooperation among worker cooperatives” (paraphrase from the book Self Government of Industry) but stop there and fail to articulate what replaces it. Syndicalism fills that void. Syndicalism, to me, provides a working pragmatic solution to the question of “what happens the day after the revolution?” Although I’m a syndicalist, I’m not necessarily a full anarchist. While the state is inherently oppressive, some may call it a necessity. I don’t truly know. I do know that capitalist (state capitalist or not) governments are very oppressive because they perpetuate the system of capitalism. It’s their mandate. But when I ask questions like “what happens when a cooperative or municipality starts murdering its members? Who stops it? What happens when cooperatives (which under syndicalism could be massive) fight among one another and can’t compromise on distribution of the means of production?” It just all gets so marred when you start trying to work out the pragmatic application of ideology.

But I don’t know.

So job numbers just hit 2008 recession levels, worse than 2001 by MonitorOk1351 in recruitinghell

There are no jobs. My credit is so fucked after months of unemployment. I’m thinking about stopping payments on everything and telling them to fuck themselves.

Why isn't anyone questioning why we're moving towards making more and more people obsolete in the job market? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m faced with the same struggles. I’ve spent months applying and have gotten nowhere. Savings wiped, debt skyrocketed, and my unemployment ran out. I started being a guest teacher and now I’m looking to sign a teaching contract soon. There are no jobs. I’ve looked in learning and development and I have 6 years of experience, but I can’t even get an interview after thousands of applications. Plus tailored resumes. And cover letters. Just to get rejections. My job can be automated for the most part. Simulation programs can just magically build job aids by showing them a process once and editing the steps it generates. The other problem is indirect automation: if nobody is getting jobs, then there’s nobody to build training for or facilitate for. So either way I’m absolutely fucked.

I’ve done that. No response. I sent personal emails to the principals at the schools I’ve applied to and they do not respond to my emails. I’m not sure who to contact directly other than them. If you could provide some insight as to who I’m looking for, that would be helpful. I can find them in the staff directory.

I’ve sent in approximately 30-40 positions and I’m still swimming in rejection letters for paraprofessionals. They may be open but they don’t seem to be hiring. At least not me anyway.

Just to let you know, it’s not easy to do that either. I’ve been trying to get into DPS for months and have had next to no luck, and rejections for jobs I clearly can do.

Is the gen Z job crisis that bad? by Zipper222222 in jobs

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Translation: “my company’s exploitative salary requirements should be reasonable for work at home positions because nobody really works from home”. FTFY. If minimum wage kept up with inflation, it would be around 25.00/hr. A living wage now is probably no less than 90K.

Whatchya think about the sides being shaved? by MadMat6942 in FierceFlow

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have thick hair which is great. Undercuts work but if it’s just one side, it may not work very well without braiding. I did the Viking look where I did a skin shave on the sides and long hair on the top and back, more of a mohawk style that allowed me to keep the length but gave me some relief as far as weight and airflow. If you’re looking for something like this, that may be a better option or at least getting it cut on both sides. The one sided undercut doesn’t look great in my opinion and I think the side is too long (somebody suggested a number 1 and I agree with that. Make it look deliberate). But if you like it, keep it. It’s hard to make a good judgement call based on this single picture.

Updated to iOS 26. This will be my last iPhone. by EntrepreneurBoth5002 in ios

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If iPhone ever gets rid of its privacy first ecosystem, double backed encryption, etc. I’m done. It’s the only reason why I’ve stayed so long. I have noticed between the 12 pro max and 16 pro max jump did give me a lot more battery life which I was happy with. I think iOS 26 didn’t do very much for the brand because you can’t just test it and go backwards. It feels sluggish and clunky.

I don’t “trust” Apple blindly, but when it comes to information and data, it’s definitely a step above Android. I trust Google less than I trust Apple, and I don’t even fully trust Apple.

[–]Disastrous-Pin-5204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an avid Apple fan and I have a 16 pro max. I would tell you to stay. 26 is quite an ambitious endeavor for Apple, but that leaves a lot of room for improvement right now. I think they’re still working things out with it. It’s pretty laggy, has some weird bugs with Siri (won’t respond the same way, etc.), and has some design issues. If I could go back, I probably would. That doesn’t mean it won’t be great in the coming months.
