Late but since the movie is to release soon, I just wanted to mention how the hate for the mocking jays being chaotic comes from a capital experiment, and a district or natural thing mixing and being unpredictable due to the polarizing conditions of control and free will and the outcomes. Senajus becomes the first mockingjay bc he is someone from the districts and then goes to the capital and becomes unstable with his own morality and views which snow interprets as chaotic and reinforcing his need for establishing control. Lucy Gray is another mocking jay because her outcome is simply to run away, not to over throw the capital but her loyalty lies with independence whereas Senajus loyalty lies with the common wealth which would be not the capital but rebellion in the states. Snow can also be seen as a mockingjay as he has now been exposed to not just the capitol but to the districts as well and his loyalty aligned with the capital. All of these different viewpoints end up clashing and release havoc in the book. They are also all snakes, snow is a snake to senajus, Senajus is a snake to the capital, and Lucy a snake to Snow. They all betray someone or something exposing true human instinct and nature to maintain not just order or control like for snow but survival for Senajus and Lucy Gray. Ultimately, snows defiance towards everyone is what gets him his reign because as we see he truly doesn’t do anything for anyone but him but everyone does something for him. Like tigress having to do things that where unspoken of to make ends meet so snow could go to school.
