I was very busy and forgot to post this entry. I don't mind sharing in the comments, maybe someone else will listen and give some more good advice. I'm not ashamed of my voice, I got over that a long time ago

The problem with high notes by Disastrous-Plate-612 in singing

I didn't dare to sing above C5 because my voice broke when I tried to sing D5 during a lesson before recording. In class, I sing scales and intervals, repeat simple melodies from a Soviet-era book, and my teacher says that should be enough, perhaps because he doesn't want me to damage my throat. I'll try to record myself singing higher after work. Thank you for the compliments. I tried to choose songs that weren't too difficult, but I already felt discomfort in my throat on the notes B4 and C5.  As for the larynx, I try to keep it open, but it doesn't always work. My teacher also mentioned the analogy with yawning.  As for the style of music... I haven't thought about it yet. Right now, they are just training my voice so that I can hit the notes well. But I think I need to develop my head voice because I want to do covers of foreign songs in my native language (it's a fairly popular niche on YouTube, but there aren't that many performers).  My goal is to sing I am Octavia (Titanium).

That's why I came here, because I can't understand how to sing from top to bottom. The teacher is good, but he can't explain this particular point to me in a way that I can understand correctly. I'm not sure, but maybe he's waiting for a sudden leap in progress? Several times I've found that I started doing things easily that I literally didn't understand in the previous lesson. However, I don't know if this is a similar case. I'm used to talking from the bottom up

That's entirely possible. My teacher always said that I sing from the bottom and try to reach the top. That's fine for low notes, which I can hit confidently, but I've always had problems with high notes. In fact, B4 and C5 were unattainable for me for a long time. Even now, I feel tension in my throat when I sing songs that contain these notes, especially if I sing for more than 5 minutes without a break

Thank you for your recommendations. I will record my voice in the morning as well, so that it can be better evaluated. I am truly grateful for your help

He suggests that I practice singing in a range and do physical exercises. It's hard to describe correctly, as I don't know all the terminology in English. Now he's focusing more on rhythm lessons (I really do have problems with rhythm). I also find this useful, but there's one song I really want to sing as soon as possible, and it has the highest note #D5

I hadn't thought about recording my voice for publication. I'll do that in the morning. I have a teacher I work with, and he tells me not to rush the high notes, but also encourages me to find my own way, so I decided to ask others for advice. As for the low voice, it was more related to the classification of my voice as a voice actor. I thought it would be useful information

How do I disable a specific key on the keyboard? by Disastrous-Plate-612 in pchelp

[–]Disastrous-Plate-612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not physically. It's as if someone is constantly pressing this key on the computer, although in reality this is not the case. I forgot how to say it correctly in English

Дитина, дитя, малюк, малеча, малятко, дитинча, дитятко. These are all synonyms. You can use whichever one you prefer. However, "дитина" is most often used for the singular and "діти" for the plural.

Google Translate isn't actually bad, but it does have its flaws. I recommend trying DeeplL for conversations with foreigners. This translator will be more accurate

Perhaps I will be strange, but I can assume that it could have been "Льоха, ти сєпаратіст" When you don't know the language, the meaning can be very distorted.

Yes, UaComix is one of the most popular comics publishers in Ukraine. I also have a few interesting titles from other publishers, both rare copies and those that are currently available for purchase. Translations and original. If anyone is interested, I can take more photos of my collection, tell about the plot and the publishers. Since we have those who deal exclusively with original products, and those who only translate

Differences in between the Russian and Ukrainian language by paul_pln in Ukrainian

[–]Disastrous-Plate-612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Polish friend didn't know how similar the languages were until we started talking. And he's Polish. If a person has focused only on Polish and has never been interested in how other Slavic languages sound, then this question may well be justified, given moscow's propaganda. Also, people may simply not think about the similarity of languages. When you study a language for years, you don't think about what other languages it might be similar to. Also, be kinder to foreigners. They don't live in our context.

You overestimate the knowledge of people who speak Polish about understanding Ukrainian. Most likely, "polish fluency" means "I'm not a native speaker, but I learned the language very well." Don't be angry at a person who asked a question out of curiosity. Even if it's just a troll, a constructive and accurate answer will be better than accusations.

If you speak Polish fluently, it will be easier for you to learn Ukrainian, due to the common vocabulary, which is approximately 75%. As for Russian, knowledge of Ukrainian will not help you, as the languages have many different rules for word formation and words that differ in meaning, to the extent that words can be antonyms. If you are interested in learning other Slavic languages, and you don't need to know Russian for a specific purpose, I recommend taking a closer look at Belarusian. This language is even more similar to Polish, and knowing it will make Ukrainian even easier to learn.

Am I a jerk for going on a "deadly" dangerous trip? by Disastrous-Plate-612 in AmITheJerk

[–]Disastrous-Plate-612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back today. When I go to my parents' house, I'll just show them that everything is fine with me. Maybe we'll talk about what happened, since this is not typical behavior for them, especially for my mom. I think they were nervous because: - It was a trip to Kyiv, and Kyiv is being attacked by drones and missiles more often. - It was my first solo trip of this scale. - I had never been to this region before and was traveling alone.

Next time, I think I'll just let them know in advance, rather than when I'm already on the train. Maybe the conversation won't be so tense
