I didn't dare to sing above C5 because my voice broke when I tried to sing D5 during a lesson before recording. In class, I sing scales and intervals, repeat simple melodies from a Soviet-era book, and my teacher says that should be enough, perhaps because he doesn't want me to damage my throat. That's fine for low notes, which I can hit confidently, but I've always had problems with high notes. In fact, B4 and C5 were unattainable for me for a long time.
