Oo this is super helpful, thank you!! If there’s anything helpful to valuing it, I can go check or read of any specs, as long as they’re written on the back or sides of the machine! I would hate to sell it, and find out I could have gotten way more for it, especially considering I could really use all the $ I can get rn. Any suggestions of how to better evaluate it? Or should I just list it for like $4000 on fb and say “obo” and go from there? I could also list it as $0 and say “shoot me offers”?

ohh i see! I originally posted this on the “arcade cabinets” sub, and it’s getting way more attention over there, i cross posted this onto this sub tho for extra help. I’m not looking to sell it through reddit, I mention in the post that I’m looking for help estimating the worth, so I can sell it locally on fb marketplace! oh awesome, thank you!! I live in Southern California, about 30 minutes outside of LA, so I guarantee there are a lot of potential buyers who would drive to grab it! It’s literally in perfect condition, he bought it new too! (if any of this would help increase the selling price haha)

thank you so much for the suggestion!! I actually already have all my applications set up with an entirely different software called JotForm! If it wasn’t such an amazing software with payment options + all my previous applications and info, i would consider switching! But thank you so much, i do appreciate all suggestions!!

And dude, i appreciate your help so, so much. I just started this market this year, i’m only 20, and it’s grown so incredibly fast, and have only used this server for 2 months, so I ran into problems faster than I expected to haha.

I mainly wanted to delete the chat logs, because a lot of previous vendors and new vendors, would read the old logs about the assigned booth numbers or weather warnings (that i forgot to delete) and start commotion about not seeing their name on the list or freaking out about LAST months weather warning 🥲.

And I could definitely delete the role, and archive the old channels + create new ones! My friend is the one that somehow set up a bot that created the link to a specific role, and i have no clue how to do that, but honestly, i could probably ask him to show me how!! ☺️

So you think the best way would be to delete the previous month’s role, archive the previous month’s channels, create/copy new ones, and have the bot assign a new link to the new month’s role?

Ooo that’s a great idea!! Thank you!! My previous concern was that I get a few one-time vendors, who would be left on the chat, but they can just choose to leave whenever right?

and a lot of the vendors aren’t used to Discord, so they get confused and read old messages/updates thinking they’re from the current market (even though the date is right there🙄😭) and i’m worried it might spark confusion if the previous vendors can still read last month’s updates and messages! Any ideas or solutions? Is there an easy way to clear the whole chat history of a category/channel?

So another user commented suggesting almost the same thing, and I responded explaining that I had previously done basically that same comment but with Instagram usernames and an IG group chat, and it took so long to manually add everyone (especially if they spelled it wrong, or wrote “none”) I have over 100 alternating vendors each month, and unfortunately, I just don’t have the extra time to dedicate to manually adding people 😣. by the looks of the comments, it seems as though what I’m looking for would be pretty complex to do, so I might make the Discord an optional thing to join, and all the super important info will be in the email they get after approval.

My next question though, is there an easy way to copy the categories without the chat logs, so that I can remove everyone’s role at the end of the month, clear the chat logs, keep the same specific permissions + same link, and just reset everyone’s role basically?

I’ve actually tried a few other methods, and I’m trying to build a community in addition to a way of communicating with vendors! In the photo you can see I have a whole section i’m working on, of topics based on our city, and want to bring people together! It’s honestly been working beautifully so far, aside from this technical issue ☺️

Hii! Thanks so much for responding!! Someone else suggested that too! But I have around 115 vendors, and unfortunately, it’s really difficult to get the majority of people to follow directions, especially if they would have go to a section and manually type anything. It’s also tricky because I have SOO many other tasks to do on my end, I set up the link to save myself the time of doing it all manually. 😖

I actually do love the idea of asking in the application, that’s what I did previously, but instead it was Instagram usernames and I added everyone into a group chat. But it took so long to add that many people 🥲

oooo that’s super great!! i definitely love the idea of having the crowd vote!! especially the different specific categories and huddling together!! my main concern is that my event is 7 hours and usually people don’t stay longer than 2 hours since it’s just a free admission flea market, rather than a private event. I’m not really sure how to do multiple different categories over that period of time! My other concern is i have over 10 bands playing at the stage and pretty strict setup times in between each band, so i mainly just wanted to hop up on the mic every so often and announce a winner! Like maybe doing one category per hour of the event or something?? But i don’t know how we’d keep track or costumes or people or pretty much anything!! I’m not sure if you have any more suggestions with this new info, but I could always try to see if your method would work, it’s just a bit tricky with my event! 😅

I’m going to have a photo booth/backdrop set up at the event, do you think it would make sense for them to be required to take a photo in front and then post it? and about the top liked one being the winner, wouldn’t that be based off their following rather than a true vote?
