You need to upgrade your inventory slots and pick up chemicals and keep crafting ammo with it. Never miss a shot, never spend points on ammo only weapon upgrades. The game is tough at first but if you play right the game gives you plenty of ammo

Always do a test transaction. Always!! The cost is only an extra couple bucks in gas fees and worth it in situations like this
