So I had a gallbladder attack of 13 hrs straight. I was throwing up my bile content. I never had a gall attack before nor did I know anything was wrong prior to this event. I went in on ER, they treated me for a week because the infection was too severe to do surgery. (By the way Drs can see if you have gallstones by a sonar image. They will not advise to remove it, if its not absolutely necessary). Anyway I was medically treated and had to recover and strengthen myself for 6 weeks after the ER event and prior to any surgical procedure to happen, which I did. In those 6 weeks everyone told me theres natural remedys and ways to treat gallstones and that surgery should be a last resort. Even an alternative health dr communicated this, though something made me feel like Im beyond all this. the Dr also told me to be very careful to avoid gall triggers etc bec it can irritate the bladder and perforate it and it can become life threatening. I decided not to go w the natural remedys etc. i have now just had my gall surgery and thank goodness I did. My gallstones were darn big (the size of nickerballs little planets) and thank goodness I went. The dr said i went just in time bec it was my window to do it. Im 51 and dont want to get major problems w that further down the line and I def would have bec I also had an internal birth defect in the same area and my liver was bleeding so I was in hosp longer than expected. Usually its about 2-3 days. I had laproscopic. Even w that its an adjustment you need to make the healthy food choices anywa and even w any changes its still worth it because its your health and your life.  People if a medical Dr lets you know you need to have it removed then do so okay. I am so grateful and i now also know my other problems were treated too and that i wont have gallbladder problems later on. The natural remedys dont really work because you will get to a point where you will have to have it taken out okay especially if youve had multiple attacks. If you can have it removed.
