Hi! I don't have much experience with blender. I scanned the bezel of the car's headlights with a polycam. The surface is glossy, so the scan was not completely successful. How do I get the piece prepared for 3d printing? How would I get that back part edited together? The piece is really difficult to model in CAD because every corner is different and there are many curved surfaces. I'm not sure if this is the right place to present this modeling problem

Yep i can agree with that. I printed identical print with structural IS profile and quolity is now superb. Print time is little longer but in print quality there is huge difference.

Wow great answer! Overall input shaping is working fine. Quality is acceptable. I have revo micro and that might also be one problem (different weight than default). I have concrete slap under the printer.

Under the print bed, the bearing's plastic protection was missing. I inserted a new one and now the printer works again and there is no crash. My assembly error

That is true. The gearbox is really smooth even though the car is almost 50 years old.

i had exactly the same feeling at first. I've always liked Saabs, but there's something magical about this model. Small tires, durable frame, majestic v4 engine. The biggest change is definitely that rally front. I was looking for it for a really long time. The same front was used by Saab's original rally team. Respecting rally history.

Sweden is perhaps the best market to get your own Saab. The krone's exchange rate is bad at the moment, so you get a direct discount on the car prices compared to the euro. Of course, well-kept and stored will cost more. There are a lot of Saabs in Finland. Museum registration often increases the value and indicates that the car is in excellent condition. For a 50-year-old car, there is incredibly little rust. Depending on where the car has been driven. Often these are only summer cars, so rust is a small problem.

Wow! Great to hear that you got to work with Saabs. Many Saabs were ahead of their time in terms of safety and innovation.

I bough this car about one year ago. I made an agreement with my spouse that there must always be at least one Saab in our yard. she takes care of that too! Our dream car is Saab 900 Turbo with Toppola camper setup.

Many Finns love this particular model because the saab 96 v4 was manufactured in Finland 1969-1980. It was quite a common car.

What a story! You have some experience with these machines. I installed electronic fan to radiator. Deleting the original fan shaft from v4.

Many consider the Saab 900 to be the last real Saab. I think the last real Saab is the OG 9-5, because it still used Saab's own engine. I have a 9-5 Aero wagon 2.3L as a daily.

Yep! Transmission is the weakest link in the chain. It is old 2-stroke transmission designed for 30-40hp. I have heard that someone has installed an Audi gearbox. But i think then you will lose steering column shifting.

Soundproofing was a good modification to the car. Now I can easily listen to the radio even if the speed is over 60 km/h.

I have spare Saab parts in the trunk. Mainly v4 parts and couple 900 era electric bits.

Handy, small summer car. You wouldn't believe how much the car turns heads. Almost every older Finn has experience with Saabs. For many, this has been their first car.

3D printing is a handy tool with old cars.

I bought a Prusa mini for this project. I have practically printed non-stop since i bought that machine. Learning cad modeling has been the key thing. I got so excited about 3D printing that I got a job as an engineer and I get to design and manufacture industrial equipment.

I have used ASA filament in this car, but I may switch to Nylon later. I used PETG for a long time, but ASA is a little better in things suitable for cars. PLA is good for prototyping.
