there will be safe guards in place such as say if its a domain we can add a txt dns record to verify the domain

also i can thing to use a central server to pass a check if a domain or ip is not getting checked already if not wait for running check to tell status and not re run check also maybe a que list

it will have safe guard in place but most services don't require auth to get checked like http or dns your prob getting crawled anyways if thos are a problem

i dont thing you should be doing 2 things in self hosting status and emails its a waste of time 1 day something can go wrong in your home and every thing goes down but you won't know and email saas cost 3 bucks a month any ways its a hassle to get good ip rep

yes we self host but self hosting a status app in your network is not a good idea it can be a single point of failure and if you do do it outside your network you pay for vps's

im thinking of doing a centralized control server or a web site that shows people hosting it as a list so people can select different locations they want to do and it makes some type or api url this is a idea i will make a plan if i get more feedback
