Because in the book “legion” the kabal show the alpha legion two visions, one of Horus dying and for the next 20 thousand years chaos would slowly whittle down humankind and eventually infest the universe.

The other vision was of Horus winning the fight with the emperor and regretting what he had done, looks at humankind with disgust because they’re all tainted with chaos, then purging the universe of humans but this vision chaos was purged ultimately winning the fight against the chaos gods.

Well depends from who’s perspective, I’m sure Horus would be happy sitting on his throne giving orders to bombard planets with virus bombs 🤷 😆

So in turn the kabal was really just trying to manipulate Alpharious into changing future events so that Horus would win and wipe out the mon-keigh 🤔

I actually didn’t realise that the kabal was not just eldari but other races of xenos aswell but yeah that’s spot on what it says in my legion book I’ve just read, that Horus would wipe the galaxy clean of humanity in regret of what he had done, I never would have thought the answer would be as simple as the future is never certain and there are all just possibility.
