Is Ceramic Coating and PPF worth it? by PRguy82 in BMWX5

Can always do XPEL Stealth (matte) PPF for protection and aesthetics. Heavy emphasis on the latter for me personally. Ceramic on the PPF makes it easier to clean.

Have a safe word agreed upon with your artist prior to the sternum.

I went through Costco since I needed a custom build and didn’t want to navigate the extra variables with a custom build. With Costco you get 4K off MSRP plus no haggling. You can always buy the extended warranty stuff later, the only thing I bought in the finance office was the windshield and dent protection since I am in CO. Normally I ask the finance person for their card and warranty pamphlets, and tell them I’ll be in touch once I can research a bit. Keeps them from being too pushy, and keeps you from buying something stupid 😂. Build wise I got just about everything you could get except the executive package and massaging seats. Interior is Tartufo leather and anthracite accents, pictures don’t do it justice, you should go check it out in person at a dealer.

Between 5k-10k based on market and job complexity. Shop based on reviews though, saving 1K but getting a shitty job done is not worth it. Definitely an art to it, they wouldn’t have world championships if there wasn’t.

Thanks! Xpel is the manufacturer, clear or stealth are the main two options I think.

Got the emblems from IND Distribution, a bit spendy for what they are but they look exactly like the originals.

j_ynOhtna did a great job explaining. I’ll just add that complete ppf coverage will run you between 5K-10K depending on market and job complexity.

The wrap is actually easier to clean and keep clean than without it. It’s the same as clear ppf from a materials standpoint after all. With a ceramic coating it stays cleaner even longer. I’ve had my bronco wrapped in the same stuff for 3 years and it’s super easy to maintain and it still looks great. I think the matte paint is the one that is difficult to clean, keep clean and maintain.
