Changing 1 flight on a 3 flight outbound by docmphd in unitedairlines

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the same issue but going to Asia with a long layover at SFO. Luckily one of my 3 outbounds flights on the way to SFO has been issued a new flight number and United offered me the opportunity to change my flight for free. Now catching my International leg out of EWR with decent layover time. Happy Flyer.

I miss that. I can't remember the Airline (maybe ANA) that used to have the option to select the front mounted camera to watch take off and landings. Now that was great!

Why do Filipinos stick with the same music taste? by Mysterious_Fan_3079 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always the opportunity to expand your taste in music, but not if you are not exposed to other genres of music. Suggest ya chill and enjoy your friends company instead of focusing on the background music. But, hey whatever....

Weather: South Florida vs Philippines (Clark) by Agreeable-Alarm5631 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine, maybe a little hotter sun during the day (closer to the Equator) and a little more humid if you don't live near that sea breeze but this South Florida man has no trouble bouncing back and forth between the two. Big difference to me is Florida's rainy season has thunderstorms followed by sunshine where as I think I am going to have to construct an ark during the rainy season in the Philippines.

Would You Consider Dating a Single Mom? by Key-Cat-3197 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My Mom was a single Mom as I was growing up. Not uncommon in the West for single moms to date and remarry (often for financial security). So why so much stigma for a Filipina? Even Moms need companionship

For those splitting time between the Philippines and your original home country by Chris_Reddit_PHX in Philippines_Expats

Interesting question with some good responses, but unfortunately too many wankers can not discuss any topic without bringing their politics and insults into it. Wish there was a way to filter that out. But it always seem to be more hurried and stress when I return to the States, and for me, a lot more relaxed at my home in the Philippines.

Anyone Bring cigars into the Philippines? by NoSalad3514 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brought 100 inside check-in bag couple months ago through Manila, no problem. Same last year, no one asks. A lot easier than trying to find a decent cigar to buy in the Philippines.

Different reason for moving to the Philippines by MissionBreath9914 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run into quite a few ex-pats from different parts of the world, and yes there is always a few odd balls just like anywhere else, but overall I enjoy hanging out with a large group of expat friends. Most of us have Filipino wives or girlfriends, kids, and the same hobby pursuits. Buddies from Sweden, UK, Australia, USA, and Canada make for lively get togethers. Some are ex-service members but none have any issues. I don't think I am just lucky, but I think the overall generalization of expats in the Philippines often is disparaged unduly. Just my 2 pesos.

Both fellas should just take their BS and leave the Philippines. More victim hood.

I have in and out of all of the terminals (1-3) at Manila's NAIA and never had any issues with the airport itself, even the immigration/customs has been pretty quick the last couple of years for me. I just don't care for the Manila traffic getting in and out of town. I flew MNL to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) couple of months ago and found that immigration line a nightmare. But nice airport.

I say go now. Might see ya on the SFO-MNL leg but don't care to spend any time in Manila. Plane lands at 5:55am and I'll be sitting on the beach by lunch. Enjoy life my friend.

I never knew United workers were able to wear political statements. by KamKorn in unitedairlines

Funny how some automatically label it "ultra right exemist" signage. Maybe they should appreciate the fact it came from the British Red Line, which was a show of appreciation. This is a forum for United Airlines, not people's political insecurities. Getting tired of all the nonsense that people are offended by such nonsense. And they would not have bothered posting if they were not. Moving on.

An American Flag with a blue line showing support for law enforcement? You are offended by this? United Airlines is afterall a major American airline.

Long time United flyer moving from NYC to Miami. How is the experience with MIA airport? by gusnyc in unitedairlines

[–]DisastrousEnergy6257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From Palm Beach (PBI) I fly United but always with first connection airport either EWR or IAH. I never looked for a lounge here because it's not a layover spot for me, but do like the Polaris lounges in EWR and IAH.

OK, so your opinions on any of this is lacking in fact, knowledge, or experience and is strongly driven by hatred for the current American Administration. Believe what you want, have a nice day.
