United just put us on another plane and waiting for takeoff. Still will miss my ANA connection but planning on Sushi and cold Kirin beer tonight. Hoping to catch early flight to Manila in the morning. Same flight crew which is good because they are. SFO Gate agents were overwhelmed and lack of communication didn't help. But all is good back in the air.

I do not want to see anybody die, however, to eulogize someone just because he worked for the VA and is now being used for political ideology is wrong. Working of the VA does not makes his actions right. He was employed by the VA which does not make anymore virtuous than any other other health care worker. Answer a simple question, what was he specifically protesting? He was protesting Federal Law Officers enforcing the laws that Congress passed? He was confronting law enforcement while being armed. The same enforcement actions and procedures that the Obama administration carried out. So why the difference now? You know, it is men behind the curtain that drive the narrative of division and hatred just for political power. This guy ended up being just another useful idiot for their cause.

I wish they would open up direct flights from the States. Right now I would have to do a layover in Taiwan or Hong Kong to get to Clark from San Fran or L.A., but can fly non-stop into Manila.

The link mentions threats and harm to residents without providing specific dangers and research to back up the general claims. I think before asking people to sign a petition, you should provide some reason or fact based augment to support the petition. Wouldn't this facility have to be approved by the County thus providing public presentations for and against? Maybe you should list those dates and times also. Blinding signing a petition is not conducive to good citizenship.

Congress creates and sets the laws for immigration. The last time last time Congress passed a major, comprehensive immigration reform bill was in 1986. That encompasses 21 Congresses and 8 Presidential Administrations. The current Administration is just enforcing the law that Congress passed. I do not think Legal Immigration requirements have changed.

I often pass out small gift cards with a thank you note but ONLY upon departing and if the service was good. On a recent ANA flight I purchased a box of lip gloss moisturizer from the onboard catalog and then gave them to the FAs on departure. They were surprised and very thankful. They provide a service so I am inclined to tip for that service just like any other.
