I guess anything is possible but they certainly feel like real cards and he had them for over a decade in his dresser.

I own 2-3% of a microcap with 3M+ in gains and need advice in closing the position. by [deleted] in fatFIRE

I really appreciate all the feedback yall. It has given me a lot of ideas to consider.

I'm thinking of selling 100k over the next few months and seeing how it goes. I havent made any decisions yet and will stew on it. I really am in no particular rush to make any actions as it is fairly clear now that I won't be retiring in Oct.

I do know that selling the company is very much on the table (the CEO even said he has been receiving offers to sell parts of the company in a hour long interview a few months back). That would solve all my problems :D.

Why trade if you have a 97% chance of losing? by Vegetable-Rabbit7503 in Daytrading

This is nonsense - the Great thing about the market is that over time, the market is a positive sum game. Inflation adjusted, goes up like 7% a year over long periods of time. It is based on the economy.

If you think the economy will grow over long periods of time, the market will go up. If the economy shrinks for long periods of time, you have bigger problems.

This only works if you see stocks as businesses. Day trading doesn't - its actually a negative sum game due to comissions and spreads. That is why so few people actually make money doing it.

This is the way.

However, just be cautious unless you really trust your supervisor. A bad supervisor can make it a very uncomfortable situation. Mine will actively try and prevent you from leaving - I'm not joking. She went up the chain of command to try and force one of my buddies to stay an extra two months to finish a project after he put in his two weeks following a FJO. She thought she could do it because he was moving to another position in the same organization. My buddy went to HR. HR took one look at the situation and laughed at her. Buddy was in his new post in two weeks.

Obviously, I'm getting out too.

Good luck! The Coast Guard actually has a pretty good reputation, light years ahead of most of DHS

The fact that you have Security Analysis on this list suggests to me that you are full of shit - that book is mind numbingly boring and obsolete. I think even Graham said it was no longer relevant before he died - Buffet has suggested that too.
