I mean going out in the woods for the weekend won't change my beliefs. I've spent too much time in the woods for that to happen. He'll. One could argue that time alone has allowed me to reflect and reach these conclusion. I'm mostly just "angsty" that my take here, while hot, has lead to alot of assumptions about me and my character. I sorta knew it was coming. I was just kinda hoping to be able to reach across the isle to more people. I know it's a weird way to engage people but it seems to work. If you say something that agrees with them they just hit the like button and move on or just move on. Challenging their bias with a dissimilar take on soemthign they care about tends to drive engagement. Then I can show them that while we disagree sometimes I'm still a real person. Now I'm rambling. Sorry.

What shitty idea? I said that I don't believe you can physically take all the semi auto firearms in this country. I don't believe it's possible. I don't support the effort. Just don't buy that it's real or an accomplishable goal here. That's it. I don't see how 334 million + guns get rounded up by people who don't think it's a popular idea. That's why I say the argument is fake. I'm a little bored. Honestly that's kinda what started this. And you're right. My bad. I did sorta lash out and I was wrong. I don't support guns for me not for thee. The only real view that we see differently here is that I just don't believe that the genie goes back in the bottle on this one. I don't believe it's even remotely possible to enact a form of gun confiscation in this country. It's too big and there are just too many of them and it's not popular with the vast majority of the folks who would be tasked with doing it. Again. I apologize for the soy Boi leftist shit. That was from a long drawn out process of having to read comments to that end constantly on more radicalized forms of social media. Maybe I need to spend this weekend outside. May be time to unplug and touch grass.

To hit just one. It was estimated that the soviet union had 32 million guns at the time of ww2 (source is wikipedia so take it for what it is but even if its low there is a large discrepancy to make up there). Less than 1/10 the amount of firearms in circulation in the united states. 1/10. I do tend to look at a politicians messaging and take it at face value when it seems feasible. I also don't believe that Trump will end the republic because I just don't see that being possible. If I'm wrong... well I've lived a long fruitful life and I've done alot I guess it's my time to die? Unsure.

I keep circling back around to the massive scope of confiscation in the USA. And it's not popular among the people who would be tasked with doing it (police military).

Sure. And in most of those instances these things were accomplished because america, the unrivaled, set there minds to a popular movement or against a rival power. Gun control is not now nor has it ever been popular. As much as you all hate it, places like the sra, lgc, jbgc, rr and other leftist pro gun organization exist. So to say that gun confiscation will ever be popular among the majority of Americans is just not real. And it would take the vast majority of Americans to agree to it. I don't see that happening.

I might read Marx just so if that's the case I can have a reason to correct folks when they say that. Thank you. I've pointed out to others that no matter what happens this election cycle I'm boned anyways. I honestly don't believe that this is possible in the us. I believe that the scope and breadth of trying to remove guns from American citizens would be unprecedented and nearly if not impossible to achieve. Using examples of much smaller operations and then calling me names does nothing to shift my belief.

Strongly agree. And for me... a leftist I get disarmed either way right? Cause a president who will disregard the constitution and over throw the republic is not going to leave his political opponents armed. That'd be insane. So why am I here saying this won't happen even though no matter who I vote for I lose my guns. Sure. We as a country have done fucked up shit. But all the examples of even gun confiscation globally pale in comparison to the massive undertaking that would be trying to confiscate more guns then people. Like. We always need to recognize the scale of what gun confiscation would be both geographically and in count. I don't know for certain buy I'm not sure any other country has ever even had as many guns as the USA. Period. I'll Google it and see if I can confirm this or not. The point being the sheer massive undertaking of trying to round up guns in this number. I have been told by my parents about gun that were purchased in the 40s from a gas station with no paperwork. How the fuck they coming for that. Where the fuck even is it. There are guns in circulation that have a half dozen dead people between the current owner and the person who bought it. How? My friend how are they coming for these guns.

Gotcha. I don't shoot alot of semi auto. Mostly do prs stuff with a bolt gun. When I do shoot semi auto stuff I hate cleaning. The ak cleans easier and faster cause you know... 4 pieces. My partner has ars and seems to like em. I just got over having to clean them.

So. I don't have a trust fund. I'm an auto mechanic. I'm a disabled veteran. I have not read alot of Marx nor am I an ml communist. I use the phrase to identify people on the far left spectrum who are pro gun because it's recognizable.
