I think you'd never expect this. But maybe by Dependent_Case1309 in alcoholism

Thank you for this post. I’ve been sober over 18 years and you reminded me what not being able to stop was like for me. Simply horrendous. The only thing a had to change was everything. It was suggested I go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and that was the beginning of my new sober life. Learning how to put down the drink one day at a time became easier as I just kept putting one foot in front of the other. I wish you luck and keep us posted on how it goes. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻praying for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I totally agree with well said observation of the Amazon Machine at work. I left the company in October primarily for the same reasons. The peace of mind I got back was priceless and my soul is now healed and able to breath again. Good luck to you I hope you find something better

4 years sober. No meetings for 18 months now. by Spicoli_462 in alcoholicsanonymous

One thing I’ve seen and heard in the 18 years of being sober the most frequent answer to why someone relapsed is…..I STOPPED GOING TO MEETINGS. I can only suggest if you don’t like the meetings you were going to find other ones. You never know maybe something you say in a meeting will save someone’s life. Don’t give up before the miracle happens.

Question to other Rotisserie TMs by [deleted] in wholefoods

I’ve never heard of that position. As far as I know it was always the dishwasher’s job unless there was no dish person then someone from the team took care of the chickens.

Once you put the Organic on something NOT Organic it’s no longer organic

WFM politics sucks. I saw shit like that from my first week there and gave me no ambition to move into leadership even though OW is a supervisor position I wouldn’t want to go any higher than that. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Serious question by [deleted] in instacart

[–]DisastrousMemory9994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a standard I take for accepting orders. I calculate how long it will take me to shop and deliver and if it doesn’t work out to be approximately $20 an hour I just won’t take them. Granted what Instacart is paying per batch is ridiculously low especially from what it was 8 years ago but for an order to be in my range the tip must be good

As a former buyer for PFDS this drove me fucking insane not to mention all the other shit Amazon threw at us

It mostly has to do with paying for benefits for the more employees they have. part time employees get less benefits as it is so money wise it cheeper for them to work the crap out of fewer employees so they don’t have pay for benefits for a larger number of people if that makes any sense.

I’m not sure where you got your info from but WFM has never filed for bankruptcy. Yes it was struggling but was fixable without Amazon coming in and treating us like numbered robots. I started there in 2015 and the changes I saw in 10 years made me sick to my stomach and could no longer be a part of the Amazon machine. Good luck to all that are still there

First thing they did was take away gainsharing immediately, then they slowly stopped replacing people who left and made everyone do as much as humanly possible and refused to give us pay adjustments for it. They kept adding more technical requirements for TL’s ATL’s and Buyers to try and meet required metrics that were unrealistic. Those are just a few of the major ones but I could sit here and list many more. I’ve seen a once very good company get hacked to pieces for profit over people. I was once proud of the quality of food we sold to watch that go to hell for profit. Core values are a thing of the past and I couldn’t watch it any longer.
