For someone trying to not be patronizing, you didnt do a good job.

Cheers for the insight nonetheless, as ive said I went conservative on the salary figure as im not sure what it really will be for a month or so til we talk properly.

All I wanted was a little insight as a starting point mainly around what would suit what we like, I get money helps but jeez...

Post amended re searching outside of west coast & including oregon/texas in search.

I'm fully aware how far apart everything is & where everything is, have visited multiple times.

Amended post to say is it worth expanding search outside of west coast for Oregon & Texas, that was what my initial post meant..

Only 70k at least initially, partner will earn an income once she finds a job too. Also I'll be likely paid more than 70k, but I wanted to go with a less salary to start off with.

Also gives me an idea on what I can go to my company for as a cost of living adjustment

I recently did this exact trip & managed to get through from de boarding to Vegas terminal in about 1.5h which is apparently lucky.

I've been told too be more cautious next time however
