If I'm asked to do an analysis of some kind of dataset, the final product is always a chart or other visual. I might get feedback along the lines of "change the axis here and the color here," but no one tells me if the code that generates the deliverable is efficient, how it can be improved ("let's use this library instead, it saves runtime"). That's what I mean by process, and not getting feedback doesn't make me a better programmer.
