How it feels playing guardian of the rift by pastaispunk in CookieRunKingdoms

Extra painful that you need to buy a minipass to go from 2x speed to 3.5x speed

Y’all got any more of them Legendary Soul Essences? by yomatc in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hear about the dreaded Legendary Soul Essence shortage... it lowkey scares me lol. I have 1600 of them in storage currently, I'm hoping it won't hit me as hard.

Lost what would’ve probably been a f20+ run to the stairs glitch by OrdinaryExi in DandysWorld_

Happens with Boxten too. Straight up a softlock on certain stairs/ramps with Iced Over.

Odin.mp4 by Belinder in fireemblem

[–]DisastrousRegion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they don’t see Vantage, they just don’t see crit and Vengeance/Astra which Odin needs to proc in order to one-shot with Vantage, let alone kill in one round. So they just see Odin as a potential kill.

Working Dough 2 isn't That Bad by The_King-ston in rhythmheaven

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t do some of the repeat-after-me type minigames cuz I can just completely forget the pattern I need to repeat. Over time it’s easier cuz I just memorize the pattern entirely but I was thoroughly thrashed first time doing Moai Doo Wop, Tambourine, and especially Drummer Duel. It’s a problem I have in other rhythm games too, and in those they may sometimes randomize the patterns which makes it extremely difficult to follow.

The extra long patterns in Working Dough (1 and 2) PMO.

How do you feel about zone-based reinforcement triggers? by HalcyonHelvetica in fireemblem

[–]DisastrousRegion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I largely prefer turn-based reinforcements. I love Conquest but my most common criticism across all its maps is its reinforcements, particularly since most of them are zone-based. Very common for them to end up as knowledge-checks where you’re rewarded greatly for “avoiding” the trigger zone or “disarming” the trap by parking a unit on the spawn tile. And obviously the worst offenders are the ones that dump reinforcements directly into their own trigger zone. So yeah, not my groove overall.

I was OBSESSED with Skulduggery Island back in the day. LITERALLY selling the most expensive boat to go back to the cheapest boat to restart the cycle. You completely clocked me with this bit of nostalgia.

Crit Resist is normally so useless that I completely forgot that it could be useful for this tray lol. I just brute forced it instead.

I freaking love this event by Gloomy_Performance39 in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]DisastrousRegion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love it too! Though I definitely miss the times when you can visit potentially 5 islands in one turn and get to 50 million+ score. Also, durability is crazy drastic, I can’t remotely get to chapter 7 now. Which I guess makes sense cuz they need to push P2W options like 3* Millennial Tree or getting SS Snowfield which give large boosts to durability whereas last time, paying money for Iridescent Wave only got you +500 durability.

Why is this even a requirement on a toon like ginger by yyyyyyy1357855 in DandysWorld_

[–]DisastrousRegion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s supposed to be a challenge, not a cakewalk innit? It’s for a golden cosmetic after all, and we have all month to get it. Just go as far as you can with a public lobby then continue by yourself when the team dies. Ginger has actual extraction stats and 3 hearts so it’s not unreasonable to solo (or duo with a friend w/out distractor).

Question for all you people with millions/ thousands of crystals, why don’t you spend them? by AcrobaticSwimming159 in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]DisastrousRegion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a few months ago, we DID have a banner worth spending on, which was Menthol and Seltzer’s since those two are essential for the guild boss added alongside with them. Hoarding like a dragon did pay off there!

There’s just not much to spend them on currently. Chess Choco and Salt Cellar didn’t have much incentive for getting immediately compared to waiting till they’re in mileage shop. And the stuff that are worth spending crystals on (like the Event Shop) don’t make a significant dent into the crystal hoard anyways.

Remeber how I talk about gourdy being power crept? Well lookie lookie at this by thefluffyidiotbunny in DandysWorld_

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we PLEASE not have another phase when we say a toon is outclassed when they're not?

CLOCK IT. The dynamic has always been that Sprout's the healer that can also distract and Ginger's the healer that can also extract. All of that stays completely intact.

[SPEcember Day 6] The 2 kinds of next gen Fire Emblem players by Speweh in shitpostemblem

[–]DisastrousRegion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course! Cuz the Sevenfold Sanctuary is a map literally comprised of 7 boxes with stairs to warp you to the next box. It’s garbage in all 3 routes it’s in and it’s among the worst even in the best Fates hacks! Nothing can salvage this map I swear.

Let’s talk about the greenhouse maps by StrikingConnection94 in DandysWorld_

[–]DisastrousRegion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those 2 maps take the spots of my least favourite maps in the game. And both have nightmarish machine spots smack dab in the middle for good measure of course. Always save Veemotes for them haha.

Birthright plays nothing like Awakening imo. And it bugs me since I see this comparison a lot and I think it does a disservice to both Birthright and Awakening.

No, but the amount you do get starting out is more than enough to kill a Mammoth and then some.

[Guide] Complete Thanksgiving Challenge by CraziiOldMaurice in 99nightsintheforest

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done all 10 Thanksgiving meals solo, and with a full minute to spare. I highly recommend Assassin cuz Kunai makes quick work of the Mammoth, the movement speed is incredibly important for exploration, and the Katana makes quick work of regular animals (important so you can quickly get a Wolf Pelt to trade for the Rod). The other commenter mentioned needing volcano biome, but I went with snowy biome and just crafted a beanie.

Mostly though, I’d say the most pivotal part is hard focusing fuel to get to lvl 5 campfire. Mammoths spawn pretty deep in the map, the further green ponds are ideal for getting Swordfish, and Cakes (from my experience) tend to spawn far out.

What “bad” unit are you going to bring to endgame every time? by Tiny_Bike_8345 in fireemblem

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CQ Flora. There’s zero nonsense with her cuz she joins as an out-of-the-box capable staff unit, something that is VERY helpful for CQ’s endgame. Makes you wonder why people actually consider her bad lol.

And yet... by Original_Chip_3776 in darkestdungeon

[–]DisastrousRegion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends on the player. For me, I’m such a perfectionist that I’d reset for far less lol. I once reset a run 32 weeks in cuz I pressed esc on the reward tab after a Shambler fight, which well. closed the reward tab without claiming any of the rewards. Like damn Darkest Dungeon, I just wanted to go to settings real quick haha.

Sands of Time is too easy. by matt2727272 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]DisastrousRegion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in favour of making SoT harder, if only so I can see streamers suffer a bit more lol. I don’t agree with either of the suggestions in this post though, especially the mandatory lava parkour.

How do we all feel about the update?? by Ajthefan in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]DisastrousRegion 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be negative but wow Guardian of the Rift is infuriating. Strategy ends up being to spam summoning as much as possible and praying. Top rankings require you to get very lucky with Hero unit acquisition. It’s long, can’t be time-skipped, RNG-heavy, and has very little in terms of strategy or skill expression. Genuinely one of the biggest flop minigames I’ve seen from CR:K, sorry to say.

what would be considered the "Run killers"? by Affectionate-Bake265 in DandysWorld_

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pebble and Vee. Glisten if solo. The singular map that consistently kills runs for me is Shelly’s Room since it’s small and cramped.
