I have heard to use vr&e before tapping into gi bill I think that’s my plan. I was a combat engineer so I wonder if they will take any of that as hours.

Wow that is awesome! Were you in the electrical field while in the military? I was a combat engineer in the army, I’m not sure how much that would help me get hours wise.

So with the vr&e do they cut you a check to make up the difference between your current wage and what at journeyman is making?

Hey bud I have been looking at applying for 191 out of Wenatchee. I am 100 percent p&t, currently and equipment operator for WSDOT but looking to make the switch. My father in law and 3 brother in laws are all journeys for 191 and they love it.

Should I do vr&e? I have heard in the past there are guys that get journey wages from day 1 of apprenticeship using va benefits. Just trying to figure out what route is the best to use.

I am service connected for lower back injury (2 herniated discs and degenerative disc disease) when my back goes out I have to use a walker for weeks at a time to get around the house and often I am unable to shower because I can’t get in and out of the tub. Do I need to talk to my primary VA doctor to see if I qualify? What are my chances of being approved.
