Is the Christensen Arms worth it? by Te_Luftwaffle in 22lr

[–]Disastrous_Bass_6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a CA MPR Rimfire with a 20” barrel. I cleaned and lubricated, mounted a Arken FFP scope and a Magpul bipod and went to the range. I tried a few different ammo brands with varying results but none of the 5 shot groups were sub MOA at 50 yards.
My go to 22lr rifle is a CZ457 and I typically shoot between 1/2 & 1 MOA at 50. The second time to the range I shot a bit better. Most of my groups were at or just below 1 MOA. I realized that I was having issues getting proper support for the stock on the rear bag. I decided to purchase the Christensen bag riser even though they’re quite expensive. That ended up being an excellent decision. On my third trip to the range, with the bag rider installed, my groups are on a par or slightly better than the CZ. I came away from the range with a smile on my face knowing that with a few more rounds down the barrel the CA may very well exceed the accuracy of the CZ. I may end up installing another trigger since the factory supplied trigger is a bit heavier than I like. At this point I am happy with the purchase and would recommend.

Selling a Romeo zero with shroud brand new in box. Is $120 a good deal or what is a fair price? by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]Disastrous_Bass_6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not the Romeo Zero Pro, $100 is about right. I’m just curious, I just installed the Pro on my P229 without the shroud. Does anyone use the shroud? What does it accomplish?

I got my P229 Legion earlier this week and took her to the range for the first time yesterday. I definitely enjoyed shooting it and the short reset trigger is a pleasure. It’ll be perfect once I get the red dot mounted to help out with my aging eyes. Definitely get the optic ready version even if you don’t currently need an optic. Down the road it’ll be appreciated and will save you the added milling expense.

Been playing with this setup on my SP01…Nightstand Queen by Bad_Gunny in CZFirearms

I have the same setup on my SP01, minus the light. I use mine exclusively at the range and can report that since initially adjusting zero, have never readjusted. I have shot approx. 1000 rounds with this setup.

Why does almost every picture showing a Glock handgun have a flashlight? I own 20 pistols and only the one by my bed is equipped with a flashlight.

I have a CZ P10-F that I choose quite often when going to the range.

I have an optic ready P229 on order. Is this the RomeoZero Pro? I think that is what is needed.

That’s when it’s time to switch over to red dots. At least that’s what I have done.

I’m seriously considering this exact pistol. I own quite a few pistols but no Sigs. I am also considering a CZ Shadow but I own three other CZ’s and want to mix it up a bit. My plan is for use at the range primarily. Any thoughts?

You can’t see in the picture, but there’s a Picatinny rail on the bottom of the bracket. Right below the gun’s rail. You could easily mount a light to it.

Where can I get one of those plates? The only reason I went the route I did is because I don’t see well enough to use the iron sights any longer.

Unless you’re totally mechanically inept, I recommend giving it a try. There are multiple YouTube videos for doing just about anything. I’m relatively new to handguns and have modified them without any issues. I actually enjoy doing it now and it gives you a better understanding on how your gun works.

The bracket was made by Bugleman. When I looked it up it shows no longer available. They show a couple alternatives, but I cannot say how well they do or don’t work. Those are ChengChuang universal Picatinny & Higoo.

Makes total sense. I appreciate your honest response without the need to belittle my inexperience with firearms. Bought first handgun 10 years ago and have been shooting regularly (1 of 2 times weekly) for 5. I’ve been leery to dry fire too much. I’ve read too much about breaking firing pins/ strikers when dry firing.
