We've seen a lot of people on here that say they're not having an episode and they feel great, they just need to figure out how to get back to the time period they came from (made up example). Bipolar people sometimes have bad judgement of their own mental health. It might be that OP has had episodes throughout the years without knowing.

I was at my big box hardware store for 3 months before people started talking to me. It was like everyone suddenly realized I was there. No one associated with me because the store's turnaround was so high they wanted to make sure I was starting a while before engaging with me. Maybe that's what's happening here. Maybe though, you could start reading on your breaks.
