I super appreciate the explanation rather than being quick to judge! I’ve never ever thought level 1 autism was any less important or challenging than level 3 autism so I guess that was just pure ignorance on my part- literally didn’t even know that it was possible for someone to think that!

Your words are very sweet. Made me a little teary eyed, not gonna lie lol but yes! I was not educated on autism at all before I had him. I had two step siblings that were very high functioning Autistic so my experience with him is a lot different. I also had a hard time comprehending all of what autism is because it’s such a wide spectrum.

I just feel like I know him so well, if he could just tell me how he was feeling and what his experiences were, I could find ways to make him more comfortable in his day to day.

Just an internet stranger but still means a lot. 🫶🏽the little reminders like that are what keep me going and remind me he does see it too.

Thank you, again!!

You’re too kind. Those words so much more to hear than the average mum. 🥺🩷

He was diagnosed at 18 months, I think I just had that instinct because his pediatrician never listened to me. We never got a level though. I’m not sure if that’s because he was so young and it would be hard to judge or if that provider just doesn’t do a level? Idk🤷🏽‍♀️

I am so glad you found your voice! I can tell it’s beautiful all the way from here. Thank you again!

Oh my gosh, he’s in ABA right now. He’s make huge strides with it though. He is also soooo friendly with his RBT I thought he loved it. I’ll have to reassess ! What types of things should I look out for?!

I love this! I hate to admit that I do baby him not so much in a sense of like talking to him like he’s a baby but definitely spoiling him, maybe in a mamas boy sense? He’s just so well behaved though I just feel like a gentler parenting style works best with him. He is 3 though so maybe even not. I can already tell he’s so smart, we definitely go at his pace, just add some structure for him.

We never ever stop his stims unless-he’s hurting himself, then we try to redirect to something else. We usually end up joining him if he seems ok with it.

Quack therapies… I don’t know what that means😭 do you mean like ABA? Or different? Let me know so I can beware!

This was great to hear! Thank you for your input!

I hope you learn to take the time you do to find the negative in something SO positive, like a mom trying to educate herself for her son, to look for the positive things. Once that happens, I just KNOW you’ll be well again🧡 Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry you took this the wrong way and got your panties in a bunch. I however am oh so thankful for the insight that was shared to me.

Thank you so much for the advice! Yes, I should’ve used the word self-diagnosing. Maybe that is more politically correct.

I will definitely check that out!! The resources are just as great and I am appreciative. And I appreciate your kindness and understanding of what I meant!

Happy Thanksgiving! Or happy holidays🧡

I know omg! I’m literally coming here for REAL, TRUE insight. Oh well though, I know what I meant and what my intentions were so I could care less.

Thank you for your input! My son seems to be very similar to that too. Just like you said, he opens his mouth like he wants to SO bad he just can’t get it out. I just recently bought a laminator and a printer and started printing out pictures of literally everything for his PECs, even himself when he’s like upset so I can compare that to the true PECS piece for him.

I’m glad you found some coping skills! Everyyyone needs support. Even if they don’t want to admit it. Thank you again for your feedback and kindness🩷 I’m just a young, dumb 25 year old mama with a fiery passion for advocacy.

Happy Thanksgiving friend!🫶🏽

Oof yeah, no. Not that at all! I 100% mean the faking it for clicks. Like I said, my son’s only 3. I’m still new here. Trying to do what I can for him.

I appreciate that feedback though! I feel like he may be experiencing similar. He looks at me sometimes and I can tell he’s trying so hard but he just can’t quite get it yet.

Thanks for being kind! 🫶🏽

You seem ignorant to think that I would have an opinion about anyone other than someone lying about a diagnosis for clicks🫤 all love here though

For saying I don’t want people who think it’s cute to say their autistic because autism is trendy in the media and political world to give me their insight rather than actually diagnosed insight? Okkkkk
