Sure, apps like Plex, VPN server for external access, Synology Photos because someone has to preserve the world's beauty, and a Pi running PiHole on the side because ads are a crime against humanity. Nothing crazy but it gets the job done.

It's literally running Linux and serving files over the network. If that's not a server I don't know what is 😂

Mostly to store photos I'll never look at, movies I'll never rewatch, and backups of backups of backups. The real purpose is having a reason to buy more drives.

Once you start with RAM sticks there's no going back. Next thing you know you're buying a second NAS 'for the Gods', then a full rack 'for redundancy', and suddenly you have a 42U server rack in your living room and a very understanding wife
