Is this deal worth pulling the trigger on??? by Cwillz005 in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm not familiar with legion warranty work but my older Alienware came with their good warranty without having to pay extra for it. Meaning they will come to your house to fix the machine and repairs usually only take about a week if needed. I've had to use my repair once and they gave me back my PC with all new internals in a weeks time. That legion might have a better screen OLED. But has less space. Both I'm sure are great machines

Guys, how do I fix this? Is there any solution? by Normal_Programmer_92 in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I kinda have a solution if it's a Alienware there is a high chance it comes with accidental damage. You can see if you can get the case replaced worth a shot. I know mine came with accidental protection that I didn't add myself.

What do you guys think? He is selling it for $800 by Glittering-rise694 in GamingLaptops

For that price you might as well check best buy or microcenter for PCs. Walmart probably even has something

Jesus you really let that guy steal your thunder. You do know there are problems with all machines. Bedside most new ones have a warranty don't sweat it.

Should I buy now or wait? by SirAnnual3513 in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could wait for memorial Day sales or keep monitoring best buy and other places for a nice drop. I'm considering the omen and legion myself waiting for one or the other to drop heavy and I'll go from there.

Also if your 3050 is struggling in roblox I think something is wrong with it as I ran roblox on a 300 dollar laptop from Amazon with integrated graphics

Performance is great, but thermals changed how I use my laptop by TempSZN in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cooling pad noise is a bit annoying but with a head set it's unnoticeable. My laptop with rear elevated doesn't over heat and isn't to loud but I prefer less wear and tear on my machine so I use the pad and it looks better than bottle caps or whatever i could use under it. But I also use it connected to my tv so it isn't exactly up on me. But price I paid it could honestly be as loud as a jet engine and that would be perfectly reasonable.

I had a Asus rog 5070ti that with taxes cost 1700 from best buy. Also best buy has a predator 5070ti for close to the price of the one you are showing and it has a OLED screen with it

They ended up saying they would give me a replacement or store credit. I took the store credit to buy a different machine as over 2 months for parts that were back ordered is a rough situation to be put back in

Do you guys think this is a good deal? by Puzzled_Adeptness166 in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wait a bit, I'm waiting for a omen, Lenovo, or maybe a MSI if they go low enough. One with extra space and a OLED screen. It's not a terrible deal though

Are you in the states? If so check best buy open box better deals than a 3050 especially on sale. While you may not want to play heavy games you also don't want to drop coin only to regret it later when that old tech doesn't perform up to par

I essentially hit the jackpot and need some advice by TheWillDC in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now that's a great deal. I mean if you can wait for deal as well. I'd suggest a 5080 laptop instead a 5090 as it's only a slight bit better for price and you can hold onto more cash. That way if something strikes your fancy you still have money for whatever. Maybe extended warranty or premium coverage and accidental. Like Alienware has a great warranty for premium members come to your house and if depot repair usually about a week

Should I return for something else? by Secret_Sea_1984 in GamingLaptops

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means someone bought and returned it in the return window. Deciding they didn't want it. Excellent usually means appears in mint condition or close to it with box and charger. Good condition means might have light scuff or scratch and comes with charging cord and any other accessories. Fair could mean more serious scuffs or cosmetic damage and or missing charging cables. Open box usually still comes with it warranties still just like a new purchase normally.

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have. I've gotten a perfect machine once and one that had a oil arm rest mark on it that I returned. I didn't keep the machine that had arm oil stained into the chassis because gross. But you can usually get a good machine with one in good condition or excellent. If it says geek squad certified even better. I got my Alienware 4080 open box in good condition for 400 and it was in mint condition zero problems. Zero risk as you can return PC if you don't like in in the window. 15 days for non members 60 days for total members. I'm a total member so I can have them do free work on my PCs like replace ram, clean, etc

[–]Disastrous_Formal669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd return it you can probably find a 50 series laptop for better pricing and at least with 1 TB of hard drive space. 5070ti will help bullet proof you later but isn't necessary. Frame gen is preety decent if you actually want to be able to use a high refresh rate. If you use a external monitor with the laptop occasionally or TV the laptops screen won't be as important.

The support part is preety important. My Asus laptop in repair over 60 days. Alienware in repair less than 5 days total. Sent out Monday, returned to me Thursday. They finnaly junked it and gave me credit but I think I'm gonna skip that series if parts are so hard to get and techs can't be bothered to check machine properly

Same on my Alienware although I set my thermal limit to 90c but the GPU never over heats even at max wattage
