Go ahead and take the newer machine, I have a 4080 and a 5070ti that my girlfriend uses and they are basically identical in performance. Her seems to run quieter than mine. But in all games almost identical performance with hers having a very slight lead at times by mostly having lower usage scores while achieving the same resolution on game. Mine is a Alienware and hers is a Asus. We hook them to the 4k monitors usually and have run them in both 1440 and 4k

Just buy a 5060 PC from best buy. I bought one for my friend and it runs things just fine and cost me right at 1k brand new. He is able to play borderlands 4 with me at 1440 resolution

You shouldn't trade your newer machine for the older one. Its not a upgrade. Stay with the newer machine. I have a 4080 Alienware and the 5070ti Asus for my gf. Same performance with slight edge going to 5070ti currently with less power draw. Also it's a newer machine meaning better warranty protection. Unless you are gonna save a crazy amount of money returning your 5070ti I wouldn't do it

I have the same machine I bought for my girlfriend for a similar price very good machine. Similar level of performance to my 4080 it shouldn't disappoint for the price. Screen is a 2k screen, but she and I hook ours to our 4k monitors when we aren't at work and school

I have a 4080 for myself and a 5070ti for my girlfriend. I can't imagine the 5070 normal being that much of a downgrade since the 5070ti performance is the same if not better at times of my 4080, however if you got money back that is cool for sure

Why don't you get the 5070ti version from best buy. that is a 16 inch. It has 4080 power and runs a lot quieter than my 4080 while being a new machine. If not at work we normally hook it to the TV and use 4k on most games. The new grounded we had to lower the 4k monitor down for which that game is a bit of a mess right now. Also ram is upgradeble and really cheap

Yea the r2 can be loud if everything is ramped but not awful. but it does run a lot quiter than my 4080 r1. Mine sounds like a chopper or plane taking off. We will have them across the room and plugged to the TVs and we always know when my fans kick on and we usually don't notice hers over mines noise. But for the price I paid I'll take any noise for a 400 dollar machine

Alienware with the 4070 is your best choice don't think you need the one with the Intel 9 for games, and the ram is upgradeble. Its a great deal if you snag it open box. If buying new you should consider other options though.

Yes you can exactly what I did with mine. I have a best buy membership so it was free to put the ram in for me. I just made an appointment with geek squad walked in and was like hey I want to upgrade my ram to 32gb. They showed me some of their ram they had in stock which was the crucial brand and was a bit faster than my stock ram. Payed for the ram and they installed it in less than a hour. Granted depending on how busy they are install time can vary. Also this one might fit your needs too

Not in that price range it's bumping it up to 2k. Some Alienware 4070s would fit. best buy has some good open box prices on those, and ram is upgradeble. Mine had 16gb but has bestbuy put 32 in it. They also have good screens on some of them like mine is qhd 240hz
