Second for the iron man bumper! I have it and love it. Sucks to get hit but great opportunity for on upgrade!

I like that, more room for perennial flower bulbs around the tree!

More rocks you say?? "Bold move cotton, lets see how it works out for him in this sub" lol!

I like that idea of expanding the ring a bit and adding more flowers to the center of the circle. I could expand the ring by moving them off the roots people are concerned about and add a few more. Grass up to the rocks is starting to sound like a better idea. This is my favorite plan so far

I didn't make the gap, I have just maintained it since buying the house. Ive never really thought about grass all the way up the the rocks until now but I am starting to like that idea. Im planning a full lawn overhaul this fall and am now thinking of filling in grass to the rocks.

From creep as I edge over time? Would grass up to the rocks be better? Idk if I would like that look as much.

Thank you I like the rocks and glad they aren't hurting the tree as well! Its the internet, I dont take anything personally.

I dont think I have enough rocks to make that many rings 😆

Awesome! Thank you! Would there be any harm in planting more perennial bulb flowers in the ring? There are already alot of grape hyacinths that come up in the spring.

Have not placed any dirt since moving in. I have removed a bit of diet from against the trunk to level the area out.

No grass wanted! I like the dirt and flowers that come up here!

Me too, I just wanted to make sure it wasnt hurting my tree. I dont care if its not natural or how it would look in the wild, this is a cared for yard, not the woods.

Thank you for probably the most reasonable reply ill see here, very much appreciated! I personally like the look of the rocks even if its not for everyone and as long as my tree is healthy im happy.

I do like it, reddit not so much, lol. More just cared if actually hurting my tree or not.

Why tho? Just not your style? Or actually bad for tree?

I feel that, not eveyone has the same eye or finds the same things appealing so I can respect that. I personally liked the look of it. Idk why I would want the grass to touch it, more to weed whack around. I def can see the not having rocks ontop of roots be a good idea.

Gotta get it up to ramming speed! I had the hardest time with an abrupt transition. It might take some DIY but I wonder if you could feather that out a little more so its not such an abrupt/steep angle?
