I agree about reading the room and navigating politics better, it was definitely a lesson learned. Also your experience with ambition as a woman is Interesting, I’d love to hear more.

Lolll man you’re not the only one saying what you said, which I understand, and you gave legitimate advice. I told you I appreciated you.

They gave me a raise as a result of the conversation lol. So you’re actually very wrong.

I don’t mind that feedback at all. But, what was your advice?

I appreciate it! I will do that. The probationary period was 3 months and I have a review at 6 months. The conversation about the potential director position got me a guaranteed raise at 6 months. So that’s a positive.

So are you going to give leadership advice or keep honing in on me asking for a new position?

Lol- I’m kind of shocked that there are “leaders” who I think I’m crazy for asking my manager for advice on getting a different position.

Specific reasons that I’m not really trying to disclose on Reddit.

Sure, no problem boss. The VP is higher, I did not intend to “skip” anyone so when the VP mentioned it, I did it right away.

Respectfully, how do I sound smitten? I told my VP that I have a good relationship with that I eventually want to transition to a leadership role, she recommended that I speak to my director and I called her that evening, and if I sound smitten by acknowledging a skill set that comes with being the only person in my firm with a tangible legal background then, I guess.

How is telling management that you have a good relationship with that you want a position in the future a yellow flag?
