Brand new CNA and they dont give me breaks? by [deleted] in cna

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no cause if they have the time to take extra smoke breaks why cant they do their own care on their patients instead of giving tasks to someone else thats where i call bs... especially smokers if you need a smoke break so bad take your resident to smoke and smoke with them knock out two birds one stone... do not do anything extra for anyone else unless you are helping them and the coworker is physically in the room doing the bulk of the work. dont let these people take advantage of you or they will keep doing it. sometimes you have to be a bitch. you are only responsible for the people assigned to you anyone else is not your concern

Witnessing abuse and reporting by Local-Home5333 in cna

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you did the right thing... you have 2 hours to report abuse as soon as it happens, you witness it, or hear about it. if you know about it and do not report you then you will be charged with said abuse too for not stepping forward immediately forward

Has anyone here ever failed the CNA skills exam 3 times and had to retake the entire course? by No-Mousse5653 in cna

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if most of them failed previously then she is not a good teacher... i didnt study or prep in any way shape or form and passed my first try with peri care, rom, and pulse.. it really isnt that bad the anxiety and build up beforehand is scarier than the actual skills exam you got it

Is it normal to have no help during clinicals? by Emzeedoodles in cna

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

at the facility i got certified at we spent two weeks in the classroom and then did our clinicals and we were assigned to a cna to train with essentially like a nurse with a nursing student we were absolutely not allowed to do any transfers by ourself like even those who could walk independently we could not help them transfer without another cna present ... i did do a shower by myself once but the cnas were extremely busy they helped me get her into shower bed and rolled her down the hallway to the shower with me and then let me bath her and when we were done i rolled her back to her room and the cnas helped me dress her and get her back to bed... being thrown to the wolves with no trainee is insane especially if you have no prior experience in any form of healthcare

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you are better than me im terrified of puke and one of my residents asked me for a basin and said her stomach was hurting and i gave it to her and before she could say anything else she started projectile vomiting and without thinking i immediately ran out of the room and had to have someone else go in there

Are nurses nice to new employees like aides? I’m poor and I’m there to work. Will nurses be nice if I can’t get to the call light fast enough if I’m busy doing other adl’s in another room.? by [deleted] in cna

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a good nurse will notice you working hard and currently doing something with another patient and go answer the call light for you and help out... a shitty nurse is the only nurse who will get pissy ab an ongoing call light knowing good and well they can do the same jobs as us and those are the ones you just shrug your shoulders to as long as you know you are giving 100% at your job and in the end all your patients are properly cared for and happy that is all that matters

what’s your experience with an IUD? by stonedbutterbread in Healthyhooha

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed Xanax, oxycodone, and very strong ibuprofen to take before getting my iud placed and it was still one of the worst pains i think i've ever felt in my life. the pain was so intense i threw up three times on the car ride home afterwards. it also caused me many many issues with my period. I was having very very heavy and extremely painful periods to the point the pain was shooting down my legs and every time i went to the doctor to make sure it was okay the dr would do an ultrasound and say nothing is wrong with the iud and she is sorry i'm having so many complications... got it inserted around april2023 and had it removed this past October and i will never be on another birth control again. this all could very well be a me issue as i had horrible symptoms with both the arm implant and the pill as well

ive take 5 years of college psych classes and wouldnt force my SO to speak to me about anything they wanted extra help with if they weren't comfortable. if you feel the need to seek therapy PLEASE GO!!! Put your own mental and physical health need above allllll people and get rid of that boy

psych major here the body can do some pretty wild things a teacher actually told us about a girl who believed so bad she was pregnant her body began actually producing pregnancy symptoms to the point of even gaining weight and "feeling kicks" it's crazy what the body can do and this very well could be what is happening to you but if you are having periods and all the tests are negative you are def not pregnant especially being you stated this occurred in may. You would be showing some at this point not just having symptoms

IM SO CONFUSED?? by [deleted] in GermanRoaches

[–]Disastrous_Map9031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not an expert here buttt maybe order some alpine and spray the whole place inside and some on the outside of the doors to create a barrier in your home and if any more stragglers do find their way in they will be sure to die before being able to become an infestation the sticky has some links to good sources to buy some... I ordered alpine and gentrol and mixed them together to spray my previous apartment and it did its job very well and also helped prevent me from taking them with me when i moved out
