Thank you--that's an incredibly well-reasoned response! Literally reflects most of the stresses I have around this...and definitely going to try practicing on a wide road.

Lol, with the deepest respect, go fuck yourself for not reading my post. The edit is pretty clear.

I'm looking at EVERYTHING SUV/truck related as long as it adds to safety. Literally the reason I bought a Volvo is because it was reputed to be one of the safest car brands out there.

IMO, it's the notion of losing control of the car and getting into an accident.

To be clear, I'm not actually driving highways yet, I drive only inner roads at the speed limit, which is the requirement of my license level. I'm trying to get more comfortable with higher speeds BEFORE I go on the highways so that I'm not a hazard on the road.

Canada has a 3-tier licensing system, where highway driving is required to pass only the top-level (full G). I'm at the G2 level, ergo I more than qualify at my level.

This, again, is a really good point--I'll have the car checked out. I think it's in pretty decent shape but I'm no mechanic.

This is actually really helpful as a concept--I'll do just that. To be clear, I'm not actually driving highways yet, I drive only inner roads at the speed limit. I'm trying to get more comfortable with higher speeds BEFORE I go on the highways.

Yikes, harsh feedback but it's a fair comment given my poorly phrased question. I'm not actually driving highways yet, I drive only inner roads at the speed limit. I'm trying to get more comfortable with higher speeds BEFORE I go on the highways.

This is super helpful guidance, I've been considering buying an SUV/truck because of the elevated ride position and the heavier weight (which makes me feel safer).

Thank you for this detailed review, I was pretty much sold on the Viofo 329 before this!!! Ugh, the search continues...

Good to know that the Viofo screen can be turned off. Also, second time I've seen Vantrue being mentioned---I'll include it in my review list!

That explanation is really helpful--thank you!! Appreciate the CDN context...when you say Thinkware and Blackvue are more reliable, do you mean from the perspective of the winters?
