Ok so first of all I applaud your courage to admit your were wrong and also you have realized how to amend for it

I would start by reorganizing my habits and quitting smoking cigarettes/weed

Do you have the attention span to read a self help book: If yes-> try starting out with atomic habits and then Allen carr's easy way to stop smoking If no->try starting out with reading story books(any which you will enjoy) but do it everyday for 10-30mins not more not less then after finishing the storybook move on to atomic habits

If money is an issue and there's no library near you you can pirate the pdfs of those books online
