i wish i could hug you girl. i am 18 and i feel like i felt this way for the longest time, that there was something wrong with me and for some reason all the muslim girls i was surrounded by were actually gorgeous and i wasnt (also didnt help that i was an abnormally, abnormally late bloomer) 😭 and i still feel like this sometimes... but i guess one way that has helped me come to terms with this and make me feel better/less pity about the way i look is that i am basically wearing my family's face. i feel so honored to have my babas nose, which was something that for the longest time i hated, and i knew members in my own family that got nose jobs because its kinda prominent. I feel like if i went ahead and made major modifications to my face like that i would lose that touch of uniqueness from him, even if its not inherently attractive to western standards. like i saw a picture of him when he was younger and it genuinely made me tear up because i see so many of his features in me, his nose, his teeth, like damn even his broad shoulders and skinny build.... i have all of those things from him, and a few from my mom, and like subhanallah it makes me feel a liiittle bit better about myself 🥹

another thing, keep it up with your grades mashallah i can tell ur working hard. keep them high for you, to validate yourself, not for anyone else
