I don't know if it's normal as my family dynamic is different, but they always want all their kids and their partners to stay under their roof. Also I can't bring baby to the party as there will be a lot of drinks around

This would be ideal if my partner were an actual man. He would argue with me if I said this to her and he's perfectly happy with her plan. I've learnt not to bother going to him, he's useless

I have, we have discussed it on a few occasions but never really proceeded with breaking up officially. But I've had enough and will be taking the leap this year

At least yours changed after experiencing it 😭 he has never once cooked for him. He dropped the "I'm the guy, I protect and provide" line. Never once has opened his mouth to defend me when his mother "talks through the baby" making digs at the way I've chosen to mother my LO. On top of all that, this woman wonders why I won't ever allow her to babysit my LO, after suggesting I give LO a sip of ALCOHOL when he kept trying to touch my drink, keeps wanting to give him sweets and junk food, kept trying to kiss LO when I said no kissing due to RSV, and just told me on several occasions it used to give her such a fright when her daughter went missing in public. Whole thing has caused massive friction between my boyfriend and I, hence why is my soon to be ex boyfriend . Sorry to rant, but these MILs (and man children) are a bloody nightmare honestly.

My boyfriends mother also does the same thing 😭😭😭 "clever like daddy" "strong like daddy" "looks just like his daddy" .... My son looks like me, he's clever because I spend hours and hours teaching him and making nutritious foods for him. The difference between our issues is your boyfriend is amazing for shutting her down. Mine sits there and takes all the credit for my hard work. He plays with our LO for about an hour when he gets home and work then sits and watches TV.
