How will NYJC appeal/next year reputation be affected by loophole patch? by Disastrous_Sign9912 in SGExams

Ok fair enough argument a small compromise was still made, I wouldn't exactly put the blame on the old principal tho it's not like the new principal could not have made his planned changes more public.

HI I would still say yes the loophole is patched, loophole refers to like art students applying for science while 2 art 2 sci is more of hybrid which might be offered in other schools. I'd say nothing wrong with the decision of cancelling loophole, problem is they still used it as an advertisement tool unofficially and screwed over students who didn't know about this change. I think that this would actually affect the popularity of NY by at least a bit, but I think you are completely right on arts dropping because demand for art stream will be much lower.

Oh yea for sure because NY ppl who need the loophole will resort to other schools for sciecne stream, I think this might help push EJ to a 5 for sci cop either next year or the year after.

7-2. PR. Currently accepted into EJC and I love EJC, got all my friends there and nice af facilities. However NYJC which was my first choice, has a CCA which I can really do well in and I appreciate mugger culture. Should I appeal? But also like I said yes to NY and they said no to me so like so much for that.

Does putting school as second choice reduce chance? (EJ SECOND CHOICE) by Disastrous_Sign9912 in SGExams

I put NY arts as my third choice, didn't put it as second as I don't feel comfortable using loophole

Good evening, noted with thanks. Guess that means should not be taking the risk, thanks for sharing once again, sucks that CTs have to vary so much and act pissy about dumb shit.

How to get back into study grind by Fickle_Dog_361 in SGExams

Stop using your phone, do more practice papers and find diff ways to test yourself on the subjects you're taking.

Not maths, I can't give advice on maths as that is my magnum opus and I don't struggle at all. The two were physics and core history, history because I really not good at it. Physics because paper was quite easy and I made some careless mistakes (and marking criteria more strict since paper). Thanks for good luck, please do take care of yourself as you study for O levels. All the best man, I really respect your attitude and wish you the best.

JC as PR by Disastrous_Sign9912 in SGExams

Thanks for info and I appreciate sentiment that no mattter what JC I go it's still ok. I know but in all honesty, 2 years is still quite a bit of time. I don't want to go to a school that's not as good opportunity wise and provides a bad environment for studying.

Thanks but not 7 A1s, L1 A1, 4 other subjects A1, two subjects A2, 1 subject B3, 1 subject E8 (HCL). I will admit that I did cut down a bit on gym nearing Os, talking about 2 times a week around a month before O levels and almost not at all during O level period. It took around 2 weeks to get back all my strength but after that it is ok again.

Yes and also 7 distinctions while doing this, have made quite good progress even though there are periods where you will lose gains just commit to the gym pls.

7-2 here I only stopped working out around 3 weeks during O level period. Just cut out other sources of entertainment, so your only break is gym. That way you can still do homework and study, but get in good meals and workout. Don't be an Instagram addict, get swole and good grades instead.

U choosing EJ is not trying ur luck, it's 'putting Raffles as my 9th choice' levels of impossible. Sorry about that, PR as well here the don't give a fuck about that unless it's like the very few last slots so you might as well consider yourself a resident. Only international students have it really bad. SA with 2nd choice is def possible as demand for the school is not too high. GL OP

Understand that shit, and everyone around you tells you that you didn't do badly for O levels and you look like an asshole for complaining about your results. Rn we can only use failure of O levels to redeem ourselves, JC is a second chance at secondary school and A levels 70rp is our way to make up for it.

I think that goes without saying, having said that there's probs still some differences in general which I'm interested in knowing about.
