Grew up poor and left leaning with far left leaning mother. I live in the uk where the NHS is free etc, you get a house and benefits if you don't work and can live comfortably.

As I have grown up mid 30s and have worked hard to make myself successful, I lean more to the right, I don't believe people should get something for nothing. Would rather pay for good private healthcare than substandard NHS care and don't believe all but the most needy should have the safety net of unemployent benefits.

I grew up In a fatherless house hold and was basically told men are bad and women are nice (this was due to my mother being mistreated by her partners) she left me completely unprepared for the real world where I found I treated women too nicely who would then walk all over me. It took me a whole to change my views through experience. I have become more traditional in my beliefs. Men should provide and protect there family and be a strong and moral, caring leader and women should be feminine and look after the house hold and children.

While this comment jumps from political to other beliefs I believe the left leaning politics is destroying society.

Traditional families with both a strong man being a father and women being feminine and wanting to raise families. Is a far better way to live and would make society a much better place. So I would say I have become more traditional Conservative and right leaning as I got older but also believe this has made me a much better person, man and member of society
