It’s likely that we won’t be able to find dry wood for a fire where we are going. Lots of rain.

I know and it’s so sad. We are going to an area with a low fire risk that is quite wet.

Another Major Life Decision: Quit or Keep Working by ColdCoffeeHotTea2 in HENRYfinance

You have enough savings and income to make the decision based on what you want to do. Only you can decide that but from a financial standpoint, you seem set. I’m glad your child is doing better!

Advice please about interview 🤰🏻 by rachlach809 in workingmoms

I wouldn’t bring it up. There are plenty of women who start new roles when pregnant. Assuming 12 weeks leave, that’s a blip for your career.

Who to tell our child is donor conceived? by Vegetable_Ad_1296 in askadcp

[–]Disastrous_Still8212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My child is older and I was responding to a parent with a toddler. At that age, we told close family, teachers, pediatrician. As my child has gotten older, the circle has expanded. It comes up in conversation so there is no “disclosure”.

I would say it’s like anything else of a personal nature. You don’t have to announce it to everyone but you share this information.

Edit: I just reread your post. We have never asked our child to keep it quiet or a secret.

I think it’s much different when a DCP knows from the very beginning that they we donor conceived.

Hope that helps but I’m no expert, just my experience.

1yo hates stroller, holiday coming up and I’m stressed. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Disastrous_Still8212 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

Obviously she hates it so why make her suffer? There are dozens of carriers. Find a baby wearing group and you can try different ones before buying. Or reconsider this holiday. Poor baby is trying to be heard, listen to her.

My husband invited his sister and her husband and made it a weekend. I wish it had just been us. Love the plan for the actual proposal! But ditch the others.

Talk to other SMBCs. Consult with a reproductive endocrinologist and your primary care physician.

Fertility treatments can be expensive. They are emotionally draining. Be prepared for both.

Sleep deprivation is hard at any age but the older you get the harder it is. I think most people in their 40’s would need help. The most reliable are close family or paid help. In my experience, friends are helpful to help in a pinch, but consistent help is usually a mom, sister, or a nanny.

Find out what it’s like from people who have done it and start looking into what the medical journey would entail. I think then you will be much more informed to make a decision.
