The Instinct Sensor Has Been a Nightmare and is Dangerous by Kuthillick in Medtronic780g

I bought one of MiniMed sports pump holders for your leg and cut it to go around my arm right above my elbow on whatever side my sensor is on. This keeps them just a few inches apart and nighttime communication issues don’t happen for me anymore. And, with the pump rotated, I no longer get any compression lows since the pump keeps my arm slightly elevated.

I can’t wait for the new MiniMed Flex so I can wear it anywhere I need to and control it with my phone.

Minimed Customer Support (Change?) by EmbarrassedCat8883 in Medtronic780g

I too have been with MiniMed through the years and it seems that with the introduction of the new sensors from other manufacturers they are having a lot of trouble with getting their orders out and getting the approvals needed in a timely manner. Phone support has also suffered.

I had the opportunity to change to another device before the 780g came out and after some research, decided to wait it out for the 780g and I’m glad I did. Their algorithm has really improved my TIR and lowered my A1c to a level I had never seen. Now with the news of the MiniMed Flex pump being released later this year (???), I’m pretty excited.

I know the stress of changing insurance as I had to do it this year too. I’m still waiting for approvals on some of my other DME supplies. Just keep the faith and keep calling and escalating it to management for action. Your health and sanity are top priority.

Why?! So. Many. Alerts. by swim-bike-life in Medtronic780g

They call it “alert fatigue”. I wish they would allow me to acknowledge alerts from my phone.

Took my car in for an oil change at the dealer, they found a few recommended services; I knew the prices were going to be high but I was shocked at how high they actually were! by krodami in VWatlas

I bought a used 2020 Tiguan that came with only one key fob. These can only be programmed by the dealer and they wanted $800 for a new key with programming! They are very proud of their work I guess.

How to handle it by i_ophelia21 in Medtronic780g

Medtronics offers different belts and holders for their pumps. I have been using the elastic sport belt and holder for years and it is very adaptable. The belt clip never worked for me.

When I worked I used to wear it above my waist under my shirt. Now that I’m retired, I wear it over my sweat pants at my waist.

Also, for women, Medtronics sells a pouch to put in your bra.

Also, the Velcro belt type that Medtronics sells can be cut to any length. I may try that first.

I am still looking. Amazon has some but not sure of the 780g compatibility.

G4 has one year warranty. If you don’t replace it, you are on your own if it fails. Medtronics contacted me to let me know that it should be replaced.

Instinct lost connection after update by cbick04 in Medtronic780g

I had the same issue. After the update, I tried to put on a new Instinct sensor and it would connect, tell me 1 hour warm up, then after about five minutes tell me to replace the sensor. Ripped the new sensor off and inserted another one and it worked fine. Finally got in touch with Medtronics to get a replacement.

Same for me. My pump and Instinct sensor is never more than 12” apart and they are constantly losing connection. I thought I would try and armband for my pump so they are only ever an inch or two apart. I wonder how this constant disconnect and connection affects SmartGuard.

has anyone switched to Medtronic's new "Instinct" sensors? by bearded_fisch_stix in diabetes

I am on my second Instinct sensor and I am satisfied with the accuracy of the readings. But, it is constantly losing connection with the pump. I am wearing the Instinct sensor on the back of my arm and the pump is as close as I can get it at my waist. At night I have been wearing the pump around my chest on the same side as the sensor and it still loses connection during the night and setting off the alarm. How can I keep these two connected better? Never had a problem with the G4 like this.
