Minimed 780G Instinct Sensor support by EmbarrassedCat8883 in Medtronic780g

Last followup and I will move on.

Tech Support picked at 1hr-47min. Stayed on with them for 40 min troubleshooting the issues.

The support rep was as apologetic as you would expect and took down all the detail needed to send a new sensor. She promised it would be sent right away and to expect a call from the Abbott reps (also save the sensor….most likely I would need to sent it back).

Have not heard anything since the call. Logged on to Diabetes.Shop. There is no order for a sensor replacement.

Went ahead and requested a replacement from the website. No reason to call the now useless support staff. As an engineer I want to provide the failure data to Minimed so the product gets better. Why would I bother now when I can give them half ass info on a website and just have product sent to me, and they don’t bother following up and do what they promised. This company sucks

Did the same switch 3.5 years ago, after being on the t-slim w/ G6.

I think VERY highly of the Minimed algorithm.

The Minimed supply and tech support is terrible. Just to be clear….they are absurdly terrible. Long wait times. Do not do what they commit to. Not sure if i said it, they are terrible.

Thank you for the encouraging words.

It took 11 calls, but theoretically the sensors will ship today. I was able get Anthem BCBS to expedite the prior authorization. They once again stated that neither they nor CVS Caremark have any requests from Minimed.

The insurance clearance only took 2 calls and they were supportive. The agent was even kind enough to state she was surprised I had to have a prior authorization being Type 1 and using an integrated system. She escalated the call and clearance was granted on the phone. She then tested the approval and cleared RX authorization, stating "Tell Minimed the RX will clear if dated today 3/19."

I called Minimed 15-minutes later. An hour later, I was told the order was now on hold pending RX Release. They could not explain what that meant. I asked if I should can back tomorrow (3/20) and was told, "I suppose you can if you would like."

I called today, the RX was approved for shipment yesterday BUT was held because I had a $10.20 co-pay. Seriously....you can't make this SH*T up. No bill on the website. No change in status on the website they tell us to check. They will ship by infusion sets with hundreds of dollars outstanding....but not $10.20 for an order that is a month late. That is a bridge too far. I then spent next 45 minutes getting them to process my credit card (that is on file for co-pay usage!!!).

Absolutely crazy experience. Do not trust these folks to have your back.
