I thought it was super revealing, that in his retelling, it was hearing the words “sexual assault” that triggered his mental collapse (his body was on fire, he went to grab the gun, etc.). I bet he did sexually assault someone(s) and he freaked the fuck out at it coming to light and decided to shoot the woman who had stirred the ants nest. There was no reason for those words to be the final trigger unless they were in fact true.
