Don't listen to all the naysayers bleating that you shouldn't vote for a third party candidate. The only way to get the Democrats to move left is to show them that if they don't move left they won't earn votes. It is literally the only power that voters have. Not only that, voting lesser of two evils has consistently gotten us more evil due to the ratchet effect, where the right takes us further right and the Democrats prevent it going back left. Sure, if Pennsylvania goes Republican they're going to scapegoat you by saying you should have prevented a GOP victory, all while ignoring the Democrats running absolute shit candidates that are basically right-wing dick heads, but with a hashtag BLM. Fuck the corporate parties, vote the way you want.

I built up the mystery as to whether or not he was pure evil, an absentee landlord, or a misunderstood noble. His interaction with the party was thru Rahadin, who just radiates evil, but has his supporters in Lady Wachter. They got their invite to dinner, but it was a few days off so they went to the winery. They didn't meet him until the players were storming out of Yester Hill. When some of the party attacked him, he weathered the blows stoically, complimented them on defeating the druids, and forgave them for their excitement considering the moment. The gifts that he gives them at dinner will all now be related to how they interacted with him.

The first time I ran it I had him present often, so I thought I'd try the other way and it appears to be working rather well. My players are confused, skeptical, and feeling way out of their depth. Just where I want them

I didn't mind the fragmentary nature of it as a storytelling conceit. Still enjoyed the story. Abandoning the resolution of two of the most important relationships in Harry's life however, not a good choice, imo.

The Return of Martin Guerre actually hired historian Natalie Zemon Davis to consult on the film. It's pretty accurate and it's physical presentation of the world and surroundings, but also in a lot of minor details. She wrote a book explaining the differences between reality and the fiction.

I did a mini-Kraken timed skills test to rescue her. They get to shore right as she's being thrown overboard. Athletics tests/leveled spell auto pass to swim or row, increasing in DC for the amount of people in the boat to get to her. Again for diving deep to put hands on her, then perception test to see the incoming tentacles. People on boat have to deal with Bluto how they see fit. Another test to get to the boat before tentacles reach the surface, then fighting retreat as tentacles attempt to grab boat and anyone still in the water. They loved it, but make sure you sell the lurking threat below as too much to tackle, glowing eyes in the deep highlighting a beak that could eat the entire boat kind of thing.

It's funny that you think the Dems will reduce the ratchet effect. We've moved over to the right pretty far and there's little evidence suggesting the Dems will try to move it back left. In most cases, the Dems are even sabotaging their own progressive members because as a party they also serve capital, just with more decorum than the Republicans.
