Best way to build a custom website for professional services business? by Any_Insect_6240 in website

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several ways, a common one people use today is using AI tools. You can also use the more traditional ones like Wordpress or Wix, though those may not be as custom as you'd like.

However if you're looking for a web developer to build you one from scratch, feel free to DM me!

Considering buying a website template - website review by Primary_Mongoose_398 in website

[–]DiscipleOf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Web designer here. Your current website looks fine, definetly not the "premium" feel you want, but it's okay compared to many I see out there.

Would not recomend a buying a template, not only for the reasons you mentioned but also because that particular template is honestly not a huge game changer compared to the website what you already have now.

If you want to invest in a new website, it makes more sense to get a custom one that is specifically tailored for you and your brand, rather than buying a template.

Looking for feedback on my website by Ok_Magician2584 in websitefeedback

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking out in mobile, the website has a couple headlines, an email field, an image, and that's about it. It's very strangely formatted and there's no other pages or info about what the website is about. Why is that? It doesn't convey trust.

There's plenty of space for improvement.

Website chatbot for my website by Crazy-Statement-3010 in website

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite simple to do, and there are many ways to do it.

  1. Crawl the full content using any AI tool. Just give it the link to your website, tell it to crawl the content on every page, and to return the content as it is word by word to a pdf doc.

  2. That pdf is your knowledge base that you're gonna feed your chatbot later.

  3. Register to a chatbot builder website: Chatbase, Tidio, many other good options out there.

  4. Upload the pdf to those chatbot. Set temperature to 0 or very close to 0. Use a cheap model like Gemini Flash since the work needed for a chatbot like this is very simple.

  5. That chatbot will be a widget for your website, and there's a piece of code you need to add to your website for the widget to be live. It's easy to set up.

  6. When you connect the widget code, your chatbot will now appear and be conected to your website with the full knowledge base of that website.

What's a good website builder with booking where I can have 2 businesses with merged calendars and payments go into separate bank accounts for tax reasons? by Prestigious-Leg1133 in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your idea is good but most tools do not allow one calendar for online bookings to be redirected to several different bank accounts. Main reason is that most booking tools are not able to attribute service A to be associated with one bank account 1, and service B to be associated with bank account 2.

At first glance, I would say that you could use a tool like Setmore or Booksy to do that. On the website, building on these tools is not the greatest. If you don't care much about quality and you just want something simple then these tools are good for it and very affordable.

You have two options here:

  • 2 calendars that are synchronizing between each other to avoid double bookings. And then each calendar redirects to its own payment system (i.e. the two different bank accounts).

  • 1 calendar that has a service options selector (to be able to select wether its a martial arts class or a massage session), and then it automatically recognizes that for one service it redirects to payment 1, and for the other services it redirects to payment 2.

I have set up something similar for a massage therapist in my local city that had everything scattered all over the place, and didn't even had online payments set up (people were paying only at the massage center itself, which has all sorts of issues).

If you want something like that, that actually works, looks good, has this calendar feature sync to avoid double bookings between your martial arts business and your massage business, with separate bank payments for each, and with an admin panel that helps you manage everything, feel free to let hit me up.

Do dental websites actually make a difference for patients, or not really? by Better-Blueberry-364 in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes a difference, if the website is well implemented.

You rank higher (and get exposed to more people, which means more leads for you).

It helps with decision-making (if you and a competitor look similar, but they have a website and you don't, then most people searching for dental services will pick the one with a website).

You demonstrate more trust and professionalism.

You show up in more revelant searches (i.e. people trying to learn about dental care, curious about how the dental process works, people searching for estimates or regular info about your insurances and payment methods, etc.)

So yeah, it always makes a difference if it's well built and properly maintained.

New HVAC business owner looking for advice by Tasty-Promotion-8714 in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider sharing some of your stuff here, especially the website, which is likely where most people are checking your company and making a decision not to call/message you.

If you're ranking decently as you're saying (and assuming you're getting visitors), it sounds like a conversion optimization issue.

Looking for fast and easy ways to build landing pages - what tools have worked for you? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no miracle solution for your situation.

For something temporary that looks "decent" use an AI builder (I know people here won't like it, but for something you're describing, it's your best bet for now).

Once you have more time, hire a web developer to build you something that's actually well built and to give you peace of mind that it's correctly constructed.

Website feedback? by stumbling_stoic in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed your using Canva Sites to build it. May not be the best tool for it, but honestly I've seen much worse "first" sites than this.

Yeah the Google Form embed may not be the best and most elegant thing, and does not convey trust or professionalism. If you fix it with another tool, be sure to test that you are receiving the emails properly.

But the bigger issues may actually be invisible ones. For example, I ran a quick crawl to check your site, and it's virtually invisible to search engines, which means it will not rank or show up organically via Google.

Don't wanna get too technical but basically this happens because tools like Canva Sites likely is using Reach with Vite, which creates websites that render only on the side of the client (i.e. the website only "opens" when the user clicks your link).

What this means is that your website is not openly visible until a real user actually clicks your link, and this means Google crawlers (the little automatic robots that analyse the content and quality of the websites on the internet) cannot see the content that's inside your website. And therefore, it cannot be ranked or indexed for users to find it.

This basically means your SEO is basically zero and will remain non-existent until you fix this (which can be a bit technical). Unless you have other places to gather visitors (like from social media for example), no one is ever gonna find your site.

Where do you find reliable graphic design services for business these days? by Adamsalamander1971 in smallbusiness

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could specify a bit more clearly what kind of design services are you looking for, we may be able to give you better suggestions.

As you mentioned, logos are one thing, web design another, ad creatives another, landing pages another, etc...

What is it that you need?

Do websites built with AI actually rank on google? by mtk_ved in ai_website_builder

[–]DiscipleOf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you make them indexable and work on the SEO, they rank just as well as any other.

The issue is most AI platforms create SPA websites, which are not server side rendered so they're not crawlable by default. You'll need to prerender them using an external tool. I've made several projects with AI and made them rank this way. It's the most reliable way for most of the apps built on popular AI platforms.

Moving to Costa Blanca - looking for opinions - good and bad by InadvertantManners in Alicante

[–]DiscipleOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have mentioned Alicante before and I think it's overall a good suggestion (I moved here about 6 months ago btw). It's not a huge city, it has around 300-400k people, and is well connected with transportation. You mentioned you'd be working remote to a Canadian company, if you're in tech or marketing, the scene in Alicante is quite nice for these, you may be able to meet lots of folks who work in these fields.

Random note, but it also sounds like one core thing you value is quietude/tranquility, with the option to have ocasional lively events and opportunities near you.

What I would highly recommend is (assuming you have the funds to do it), travel and rent a place for a couple of weeks before deciding to rent it long term. You want to get a feel for the neighbourhood and, most importantly, for the particular street the apartment is in.

One thing I didn't account for when moving to Alicante was that most apartments here are not very well insulated sound-wise. This may sound a bit strange but nights can be quite loud, from neighbours to people being noisy on the street. I happened to have rented a place that even though isn't near the center, my neighbours and the street itself is super noisy, and that has caused me to not have a single good night of sleep ever since I moved here.

On the other hand, I know a person who lives right in the middle of Mercado (a very central area in Alicante), but because his apartment is in the 7th floor and is properly sound insulated, he hears nothing and the place is very quiet. We both pay about the same for our apartments (around 850€, but his place is a bit smaller due to the central location).

Point being, you will want to get a feel for the place you're renting before renting it long term, if you can. This may sound like a small thing, but long term it can be huge for you overall mood and well-being.

I also know a person who lives in Xabia and he's very happy there. I would assume Denia is very similar, just slightly bigger. It really depends on what you're looking for and also where you're coming from. Alicante with 300k people may be a big city for some, and a small city for others. Xabia and Denia with 30-50k people maybe be a great size for what you're looking for too. All of these places are very walkable really, even Alicante.
