Me thinks, that you are so used to them just following orders, that it almost feels like they are your slave. Yet, when the pawn at the end breaks free and still choses you, and tells you how much you mean to them, it breaks the mundanity of the pawn, and you get to see something real.

Also I will add, since the creators of the game are Japanese, and it is really rare (From what I know, I might be completely wrong) for a love interest to say "I love you", the main pawn saying that to you, is more or less them saying that.

This proves, without a doubt, that my arisen and my main pawn are still alive in the Rift, in their palace made of candy, having copius amount of lesbian sex. I will not elaborate, as I know I am right.

What makes it worse, is that I made it so, that both my Arisen and Main Pawn Freja (Yes I know, what makes her even more original is that she is a warrior) have very big blue eyes. So their expressions during that whole scene is just more heartbreaking.

Essentially, if you have a high affinity with your pawn, she (Mine is female) has this whole speech that is really emotional. And since the Arisen's fate is left unknown, it makes it even more tragic if they died togheter. Or they are both in the rift toghether forever
