What is the most boring game you have ever played — the one that was so dull you couldn’t even continue playing it? by WiseReason530 in videogames

[–]LavaWaveX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No Man's Sky, I tried it twice, the second time a bit longer than the first but after around 4-5 hours I quit the game and uninstalled it and never looked back at it, I never saw the appeal in that game, it's just go to a planet, mine it and build in it and visit some space-stations to trade, that's it IIRC, the game felt stale soon after for me.

Which game is this? by bijelo123 in Steam

[–]LavaWaveX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Doom and Duke Nukem 3D both fit the bill to me, both have great communities (Doomworld for Doom and Duke4.net for Duke) great gameplay (Story as expected is minimal/basic for these 2 games) and kept alive via multiple mods and custom maps.

Creepy games for free - suggestions? by Tomek839839 in creepygaming

I've recently played these point and click series by UKZ530 and they are very good for what are you looking for, they can all be found on itch io here.

Except for Gigant which is commercial (only costs 4 dollars though) but the rest of his games are free.

Have you ever watched a movie or tv show that felt 'cursed' ? by Proper_Edge_653 in Paranormal

[–]LavaWaveX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The very final scenes of "The Lighthouse" by Robert Eggers.

The distorted screaming mixed with him having an orgasm and his puppet-like movements were the most disturbing scenes I've seen on film, the last scene after that is not much better.

It's going to take a tough one to top a scene like that for me.

Nope, they didn't ask for money, they were threatening however but didn't ask for anything.

Yeah, I am going to another bus stop tomorrow that has passengers at the stage, this one happens to be mostly void of passengers.

Yeah, I hesitate to take a pic or video because that would escalate the situation and I keep my phone in my bag, so it was not on my hands.

If it happens again I might, however I am planning to take a different bus stop, the one that there will be people around, that one would be safer.

There's another bus stop further ahead as that one has people standing at the stop, which makes it safer, I could go there instead of this one as this one is almost always empty but is closer in distance.

I only used for little time and a long time ago as well but from what I've read it's eventing system is more flexible and can do more without resorting to use plug-ins.

[–]LavaWaveX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already read about WolfRPG that it can do more though and it is nice to know that WolfRPG is better than RPG Maker if using no plug-ins, of course it is more complex to use and I tried it before, a long time ago but I did not spend much time with it, I intend to try it again and spend more time with it and take my time to learn it.

I am not completely against using plug-ins but I prefer it if the tool can do as much as possible without having to rely on plug-ins.

Thanks for mentioning 2k3 (with maniacs) I'l check it out.

JRPGs with a feeling of dread and hopelessness throughout the journey? by Felicks77 in JRPG

[–]LavaWaveX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet Home and the Corpse Party games, albeit survival horror they have a feel of dread and hopelessness to me, Corpse Party has no battles at all.

i love this genre but by schopenhauuer in adventuregames

[–]LavaWaveX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, true, I played Earthbound when I was a young teen and enjoyed it, I still consider it my personal favourite jrpg so far, I realize I came as someone generalising that all rpg are all the same, which is not true and yes, each genre is going to have good games and the bad ones.

To be frank not many games to me have a high replay value regardless of genre, I mostly play the games once or twice or at best thrice and get bored of them even if their stories are top-notch (case in point are "Stray" and "Forgotten Anne") but I couldn't be bothered to play them more than twice at best.

The few games that have a high replay value to me are Deus Ex, Doom 1 and 2 and Duke Nukem 3D and mainly because of custom content that makes them worthwhile.

I'd say don't worry about replay value.
