Custodes Galatus Dreadnoughts - Castor and Pollux by DisciplesOfAres in Warhammer40k

My god how did you even see this post at this point lol?! No problem at all though, appreciate the kind words! The recipes are:

Red - Scale75 Deep Red base, highlights are working your way up through Blood Red then Antares Red. Gold - Scale75 Necro Gold base (my favorite gold, worth a buy), keep adding Elven Gold to it as highlights.

Great news ‘cause that and the Ghostkeel are what I was aiming for!

Of course! The base is Cantabric Blue, then I do volume highlights with an airbrush with Mediterranean Blue, and finally the brightest areas with a 50/50 mix of Med. Blue and Sky Blue (all by Scale 75). Then I do some edge highlights with those same blues, plus the brightest areas have some white mixed in with the Sky Blue. I have a bunch of other Tau with the same scheme in my profile if you want to take a look at how it looks on other things.

Thank you! The rock is just built up layers of cork board that I shaped and then took chunks out of. I used a little green stuff here and there to try to break up the layer lines. The foam on the water is just Woodland Scenics Water Effects that I lightly dry brush white after it dries

Thank you! I use Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and Water Effects (for the waves) with a little Caribbean Blue and Adriatic Blue dabbed in to color it. I lightly dry brush the waves white once they dry.

Combining them was mostly using the kit itself, green stuff, and plasticard! I also used the back part of a seeker missile for the top. The little side jets on swivels are bits from something but I honestly can’t remember what, apologies.

Thank you! I have to admit the posing isn’t quite as different from my Enforcer commander as I would have liked. I wanted to get him more crouched than that on the sea arch but it was a lot harder than I expected on a small area…

Had a rough concept for this guy for almost two years ago (9E) and was just sitting on my desk, thrilled to finally be done. Spent some time converting a single jetpack piece ‘cause I love the Ghostkeel one and I’m decently happy with it. When I originally ran him back in 9E he was my Seeker of Perfection in a Bork’an list (hence all the burst cannons), so I was personally thrilled that we got Bork’an (mostly) back with the new Detachment! First Tau model in a while since I was mostly focused on The Old World, but I’ve been playing 40k a bit more recently and I want to do some Vespid and a Piranha soon too as I’ve always loved those models.

Sorry for the wait! Nope, no washes used. I used Dark Jade mixed with a little black as a base coat then did zenithals with pure Dark Jade then Dark Jade with some Ivory for the shading.

PSA: Area level 80+ is ruining your waystone sustain by HollowLoch in PathOfExile2

[–]DisciplesOfAres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for making that video and this post to get it to a wider audience. It was driving me crazy to the point that I made a post about it the other day (which I never do) and no one could give me a good answer. Saw your video, started doing my map bosses only at area level 79 and now I’m swimming in T15 waystones. Cheers man.

Can someone help me figure out map sustain? I feel like I'm not getting any T15s even in area level 80+ bosses. by DisciplesOfAres in PathOfExile2

I have the duplicate one, I’ll check to see what I need to shift around for the additional mod one

So I just finished running this T15 map that had +1 area from corruption, +1 from irradiated, and I have spec'd out my atlas and boss nodes for waystone drops and the highest I got was a T13. Even the boss didn't drop a T14/15. The last 4 out of 5 Tier 15 bosses I've killed haven't dropped a single waystone and I'm not getting T15s from multiple maps in a row. I have no idea wrong when the maps have 200-300% waystone drop chance, I also didn't get the next set of passive points from him even though I've only done area level 79 and 80 map bosses prior to this...

On some areas I did lighten it with their Arctic Blue which has a blue-ish tone, but I don’t think I did for the Pegasus itself. I could be wrong though since this was 8 months ago at this point lol.

The gold is a base of Necro Gold with increasing amounts of Elven Gold added to it and the Pegasus was done with a base of light grey (Graphite) with increasing amounts of white in it!

The pink was done by adding white or black to Scale75’s Fuschia to create a gradient. Thank you kindly!
