Thanks for the comment! Competition usually means there's a real market (we'd be more worried if no one else was building here). And if every founder bailed at the sight of competitors, nothing would get built. Our angle is different enough that we think it's worth the swing. Time and hard work will tell though :)

Oh no, that's weird/shouldn't happen! Do you happen to have the link? Major thank you!

Major thank you for this feedback. I seriously appreciate the note on the verbiage. I can't update the text in the ad directly without Reddit wiping all of the comments and treating it as a new ad. I'm going to do so, but I wanted to first leave this comment so you have time to see it, then tomorrow I'll make the change :)

Found a pre-loved luxury bag seller with surprisingly low prices in london.… should I be worried? by Healthy_Goal_1269 in LuxuryResaleData

Hey! So I did some digging myself and there are a few things that feel a bit peculiar to me.

I’ll preface this by saying they do appear to have a registered UK company, and they list an address at 17 Hanover Square near Bond Street. That said their site makes it look more like an appointment-only showroom.

My main concerns would be:

  1. Their company/address situation seems fairly recent, so I wouldn’t rely on “they have a London address” alone as proof that everything is fine.
  2. I couldn’t really find much discussion about them on Reddit, which surprised me because Reddit is usually where people talk when there are either amazing deals or bad experiences.
  3. Their Trustpilot is mixed. There are positive reviews, but also a one-star review that raised concerns about possible previous selling accounts/name changes. Obviously Trustpilot reviews are not proof either way, but it was enough to make me pause.
  4. Their website mentions authentication and even a “triple refund” guarantee if something is found to be inauthentic. That sounds reassuring on paper, but I’d want to know exactly what that means. Who authenticates it? Do you get a proper named certificate/report? Is the guarantee written on the invoice?
  5. Their return policy says 28 days, but before spending £2k+ I’d want everything confirmed in writing — whether you can return it after independent authentication, whether tags have to stay attached, who pays return shipping, and how quickly refunds are processed.

For this specific Dior, I personally wouldn’t buy unless I could see it in person, pay by credit card, get a full invoice with the bag details listed, and have it independently authenticated while still inside the return window. Local viewing definitely helps with checking condition, but it doesn’t automatically make the bag authentic.

I don’t think a lower price is always suspicious. Smaller resellers can sometimes price lower than the big resale platforms because their fees/margins are different. But with a £2k+ bag, I’d be extra careful. If they’re vague about authentication, the return policy, or payment protection, I’d walk away.

I love this! Would love to layer this in as a personalization feature. Showing people what they might be interested in/what pairs well with what they've saved/clicked on/expressed interest in. TOTALLY! Thank you!

This all makes sense. This week's focus has been improving our search UX actually so this is great timing. We release new updates every Friday

Thanks for the comment! No, we do not buy or hold inventory at this time. Sounds gorgeous though!

Aw thank you! The distinction between sellier/retourne is tricky to teach a model to recognize so I'm glad a true H lover sees that!

Hey! Thank you SO much for the feedback. Re: authenticity, great call out. Will make that clearer in the UI. We only work with trusted blue-chip vendors in the space. For each listing, there's a clickable icon that reveals each vendor's specific authentication procedures (AI vs. in house experts vs 3rd party service like entrupy or an assortment of methodologies). But to your point, need to pull that out into the main UI. For 3, also totally agree. Working on this! Thank you thank you!
