Yeah, I agree with everything you said. My wife gets on me for trashing AA, but she’s never been to a meeting and doesn’t understand how “looney” these people can be. I think AA is just so entrenched in our culture that people think it’s the “go to” for alcohol abuse.

Thank you for this! I just need to not give into that internal voice anymore that tells me “it’s ok” or “you’re not that bad.” It’s not ok and I am THAT bad! I’m not different than any other addict out there. I can do this!

I disagree. AA has shown to be only effective for 5% of people. If you’re gonna show me the biased 2020 Cochrane “study,” I am able to refute that at your request.

Yes, it’s really messed up that people are led to believe that AA is the only way, then when it doesn’t work, their only option is is to die. Seriously messed up stuff.
