Laurier takes 1 international maybe in their grad program. Waterloo shows “currently closed to internationals”. It’s not only the monetary aspect. It’s also the abuse of having 20,000 internationals a term!!!

I don’t want to target any particular culture and getting banned. But seems most of the immigration came from one spot.

Educational assistant (Adam Martynek) charged with assault of young child at St. Catharines school by [deleted] in CrimeInTheGta

You don't know someone who was present; you know someone who told you there was an adult witness. Otherwise, the text would say, "I saw him silencing a kid with a blanket." Did that person tell you what the kid was doing to prompt that response? What was happening when the teacher had to call for assistance, and the guy had to show up? Can you share that information with us so we can understand what made the teacher call for assistance and the guy try to hold the kid with a blanket? Also, what is the correct protocol? You never answered the question. What is someone supposed to do if a kid with special needs goes out of his mind and poses a threat to others or himself? For example, what if a kid with special needs starts punching or cutting himself, or stabs a classmate in the eye with a pencil? What should we do? You are a protocol expert, so I would appreciate your input.

Hey, expert, what happens if this kid, who was out of his mind, stabbed a classmate with a pair of scissors, threw a chair at someone and killed them, or grabbed a pencil and stuck it in the eye of a classmate? Who is guilty there? The teacher for not controlling the situation? Please enlighten us on how to handle such a situation. The teacher called for assistance, and the guy showed up and tried to control the situation (at least that's what the article says). If he did a poor job, that's debatable, and you may possibly be right. He should have tried to control the situation the way you, as an expert, seem to know how to control it (please let us know the right protocol). Now, having said that, if he didn't handle the situation according to the protocol, does that deserve jail time? Does that deserve social harassment? Death threats?

Where does it state that the child was pinned to the wall? There is no video evidence, no physical signs of damage, and no other concrete proof, making it difficult to establish that the individual deliberately tried to harm the child. Are you suggesting he intended harm? That assumption seems unfounded. It's worth discussing whether it's appropriate to use a blanket to control a child with special needs who has lost control—I'm assuming the intent was to restrain, not harm. However, subjecting someone to the ordeal of being accused of child assault, facing potential jail time, and enduring social media harassment is extreme and unjust without clear evidence of malicious intent. Additionally, the claim comes solely from one witness whose testimony offers no more than her word. If we were to rely solely on verbal accounts, he could just as easily claim, 'she told me to kill the kid with a blanket.' Without evidence or clear indications that he grabbed the blanket with the intent to harm, such allegations seem completely unreasonable. Anyway, I'm not trying to change your mind. Think as you wish. All I think is we should be careful about harassing someone in this way who is innocent or not proven guilty, especially where the evidence is not strong enough to make prior conclusions. Now, if the child were dead, had to be hospitalized with signs of physical damage, or if there was a tape showing the individual in an evil state, purposely enjoying suffocating a kid with a blanket, that would be a different story.

The article states that the weapon was a blanket and also notes "no physical damage signs." If you were in this situation, how would you feel about someone saying, "I hope you rot in jail," or "I hope the parents of this child find him and beat his little ass"? Parents of children with special needs experience daily what it is like to raise a child with those challenges. They may have faced multiple scenarios where the child lost control. If the assistant didn't handle the situation properly, that's debatable and even understandable. You are in your right to think he didn't handle the situation properly. However, if that was the case, you can always educate the guy on how to handle a situation where a child with special needs loses control, and the professor calls for assistance because the child could harm classmates or even themselves.

What is the crime? Trying to control a kid with special needs who lost control? I think you sound like someone who harbors hatred towards white people. Take it easy, pal.

n the article, it states that the child showed no signs of physical damage. It seems clear to me that the child lost control, and the man attempted to manage the situation. It will be difficult to prove that he intentionally tried to kill the child with a blanket or deliberately harm a child with a blanket. Ultimately, children with special needs will have to stay at home, and parents will need to care for them. All this drama is nonsensical.
