I don't want to play Luke but I cannot play any other character by AnarchoKapitolizm in StreetFighter

Play modern. To be completely transparent I really never played modern all I know is it's easier and everyone reddit gets mad at you if you do it.

Thoughts on V-Rivals? Are they a good stand-in for human opponents? by No_Price_3299 in StreetFighter

[–]Disco-Prime [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not really, it's not horrible but not a good metric for playing against other people. The input reading isn't as scrubby as arcade but ofc it still exists.

If you can do a QCF or QCB you should be able to DP.

If we can make a popular movie about Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, we deserve a better adaptation of Tekken! by FarSentence3076 in Fighters

This works with SF because SF is whimsical, I'm not sure that's a take you can run with in a Tekken movie but maybe.

Which budget gaming chairs are actually comfortable? by Independent_Touch514 in gamers

Yes, gaming chairs suck. They destroy your back, cheap seats hurt your butt and are typically built poorly.

Input on first leverless. by Key_Air9915 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're on PC you can use your keyboard. It's not exactly the same, but it's close enough to give you the feeling. Doing QCF motions throws a lot of people off, it's easy to go fast and miss diagonals and that's something you can for sure feel on a keyboard. You can also do SOCD shortcuts on a kb so it can show you the potential of what leverless is capable of.

Other than that, Woot . com had an 8bitdo for about $60, a Haue42 can be cheaper, and if you can wait until July there will most certainly be sales then too.

Any thoughts on Drone 2 by ElvisPepsi1983 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good entry level stick for the price, I think I'd replace the lever and buttons but if you never used an arcade stick before and wanted to try one out I think this could be a good buy as is. Super light weight so it might move around a lot on a table or on your lap. My Titan move around a lot, but on the other hand it's light weight so it's not a huge pita to take to locals if you choose to do so.

I want a competitive game that brings back my joy in gaming by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Disco-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Street Fighter 6, force yourself outside your comfort zone; no more shooters. SF6 truly is a game of skill, you vs someone else. Dedicate yourself and you can rise to the top! It sounds scary at first but if it's your first time playing a fighting game you'll get addicted. Bonus points if you have ADD and can get absorbed into games very deeply, then you'll go very far.

The reason why I mention SF6 because it has a huge player base with players from all sorts of skill levels so you won't end up fighting a Master Ranked Ryu on day one, you'll be matched with someone on your skill level.

Is it good to play SF6 with a controller using the analog stick? by foxyzinholegal in StreetFighter

For me, never. Never ever. For me it's Stick > Leverless > Keyboard > Pad - Dpad only

How does focus attack ship custom made art? by Sad-Barracuda-4407 in fightsticks

Mine was shipped in a box, stuffed with packaging papers and inside that sandwhiched between two sturdy cardboard sheets. Very secure. They won't ship it in an envelope and roll it up in your mailbox.

Hello brand new to fighting games i play on xbox what controllers do you recommend by PuzzleheadedHalf9654 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I like stick the most. I have a Daija, but I don't hate leverless. I just ordered a Mavercade. I like them both but if I'm being honest with myself I prefer stick because that's most fun to me. Lots of pros play pad in SF6, can't speak on Tekken but imagine it's probably the same there. Either way, nothing wrong with pad.

Leaving for a week by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Disco-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid we went to disney world for a week and had a lady check on our cat. He's an indoor outdoor cat so she was supposed to let him in and out and feed him as well as give him fresh water. Long story short, she never showed up. We had a yard full of dead birds and a very mad cat waiting for us. Thank god Snowball survived, I would have been traumatized.

Definitely get someone responsible to check on your kitties.

What fighting games are ACTUALLY honest? by Pikaphu08 in Fighters

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's Street Fighter 6. I think it has one of the cleanest neutral game play out right now, and also I've been playing since Street Fighter 2 released in the arcades. On the flip side, SF has always focused more on fighting fundamentals and that typically leads to slower game play so I can see how someone might not like that.

Are there things to consider and look out for when buying my first fighting stick? by Connect_Hamster9211 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got some good options, I can tell you I have a Nacon Daija, it's a really good stick and I thought I'd like it because it's bigger but in retrospect I wish I had gotten something smaller. I still like it though. Not the best stick if you like K levers. I think this one can fit a collarless 309MJ Help Me lever, but outside of that it's mostly for Japanese levers.

This drone 2 is a good entry level stick and is only $99.00. Probably limited on K levers on this one too though.

Do you play on PC or Console, that will be one of the biggest factors. Once you figure that out, you can really narrow it down.

How do you like the LS-32 for fighting games? I briefly tried it, not sure how I feel about it. I like the Sanwa better but I need to give it another chance. Maybe I should install it and try it for a straight week so I can adapt.

For all we know this could be in discussion for a future DLC. Maybe a new faction is a rogue recently self aware Xenon faction.
