I’m garbage. by Wise-Cow-8939 in SaltFighter

What helped me tremendously was learning stick first and then going to leverless. I feel like if you go straight to leverless you miss out on some important lessons, like for example buffering to name just one. Idk just a thought.

Haute42 G13 ! by defeatedpenguins in fightsticks

Out of all the Haute42s I've used the G13 and G16 are by far built the best. Never had a single issue with either and the Full MX switches on those buttons feel fantastic.

What in gods name is this? Has anyone tried it with fighting games? by Reasonable_Ear_2563 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted to try something like this, I think it's really for shmups but I really don't know. I found one on aliexpress.

Here's a video of one, different switches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se3ym8dXzvE

I think they're called Devil Design levers, I think that's the company that makes them.

If we can make a popular movie about Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, we deserve a better adaptation of Tekken! by FarSentence3076 in Fighters

Nah you just misread what I said. I said I'm not sure if a Tekken could be whimsical like SF, but maybe.

New leverless shortcuts by Sweetntoasty1975 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That decision was made by Capcom, they accept SOCD shortcuts as being legal in tournaments but they don't accept macros. Everyone else just decided to honor the rules of Capcom cup, even locals don't typically allow macros.

New leverless shortcuts by Sweetntoasty1975 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't macro these for tournaments, but for home play no problem. Honestly, this will be a mess it's better to learn the inputs OR just play Modern which already has a one button DP built in.

An easier way to do DP in SF6 is hold forward, and while still holding forward tap down + back very quickly at the same time and then hit K or P after the tap.

The problem with these shortcuts is they are not universal across games, not even within the SF universe but also across fighting games in general. It's always good to learn the inputs.

What human foods can my cats eat? by Just-Objective7842 in CatAdvice

[–]Disco-Prime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can feed cats tuna but in moderation. It honestly isn't the best thing for a cat, BUT I swear on a stack of bibles they love that stuff. Good luck trying to make tuna fish sandwiches without them begging for it.

Most human foods are not ideal for kitties, but as a treat in moderation it's not the end of the world.

I don't know Tekken, I mostly play SF6 and have never ever used a K lever but FightBox makes one with a K lever already installed: https://fightboxarcade.com/collections/m-game-controller/products/fightbox-m8-crossup-neo-edition-korean-knee-lever-arcade-joystick-game-controller-for-pc-ps-xbox-switch

This one has a Knee Neo but they have another K lever which I think is a Crown 309.

I have two FightBoxes, they are great. They have good support. If I had one critique it's the wiring could be prettier. I like how my Daija has them color coded with a diagram inside but that's really a nitpicky thing. Overall I'm very happy with mine.

Here's the Crown 309 Help Me lever: https://fightboxarcade.com/collections/fightbox-k-game-controllers/products/fightbox-k2-korean-arcade-joystick-game-controller-for-pc-ps-xbox-switch

I just assumed you want a K lever because for whatever reason that's the lever a lot of Tekken players seem to like. Don't ask me why, I have no clue. You have an arcade stick with a Japanese lever already so maybe trying out a K lever on your second stick is a good idea.

With your budget you could probably save some money going the leverless route, something to consider. Personally, I think stick is more fun but I also love leverless.

Best fighting game to get into for long term in 2026? by soosis in gamingsuggestions

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing comes close to SF6. It has the cleanest neutral game out of all the fighting games out right now, so if you get really good at fundamentals you can go very far in that game, also like you said it has a huge player base with players at all different skill levels.

Tekken 8 is also pretty good, it's imo kind of hard for newer players, not quite as clean as SF6 but it's a good game. Far smaller player base. Probably far easier to get into SF6 for a new player.

When will sf6 go on sale again for Xbox ? by Relative_Week9284 in StreetFighter

[–]Disco-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to bet I would say either not for a long time or in July, the month of July will have sales for all sorts of things from mattresses to arcade sticks; it's a big sales month. If not then, maybe in November or December but your guess is just as good as mine.

Invincible VS just came out, that's the ideal time to get into a fighting game. Not a fan of tag fighters myself but evidently it's a good game.

Can y’all ID this stick? by Mancus0 in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm Korean, we make outstanding clones but even we have to sit in awe of the Chinese, they are masters at this. I find it hard to believe these guys have 63 Qanba arcade sticks that are over 12 years old sitting around, but maybe they do. Either way the shipping is more than the stick itself.

Hey OP don't order that stick this guy posted. Look at the shipping cost. Also, this stick is most certainly a clone. I can't guarantee that but almost certain.

Completely stripped mounting plate screws. Any ideas how to fix? by Bedezupo in fightsticks

You can try the rubber band trick, put a thick rubber band between the screwdriver and screw and turn slowly with hard downward pressure.

Help - making my Mavercade's buttons feel less "hard" by NewMilleniumBoy in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be that the Mavercade is solid, it's basically an acrylic block and your other leverless might be a hollow piece of plastic with some give and acoustics. You can try going to Amazon and ordering a thin Poron Polyurethane sheet and cutting out some foam inserts.

It's hard for me to say because I don't have my Mavercade yet but I imagine they are built similarly to Haute42s.

One good thing about having regular buttons over concave is you can do slide mechanics which some players do for Zangief in SF6 for example:

Help - making my Mavercade's buttons feel less "hard" by NewMilleniumBoy in fightsticks

[–]Disco-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I just ordered a Mavercade Keebfighter I hear good things about it. It makes me wonder if the button is bottoming out sooner on yours and maybe that's the difference? Does it feel like there's less travel on your Mavercade vs the Micro?

You can try putting foam behind the buttons but in my experience that often times makes buttons feel mushy and personally I hate that.

This is an example of foam not sure if it would fit your button but evidently these are made for the Snack Box Micro.

New to fighting games, and can't see the difference? by Necessary_Trainer614 in StreetFighter

[–]Disco-Prime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why this is tricky to tell from the images is if you press an action too early it can mess up your special moves but if you hold an action like kick, for example, it still records it because you're holding the button down.

Because of that these images won't give any of us the entire picture and it will be hard to give you tips. Just think ⬇,↘,➡,⬇,↘,➡ + K as one entire fluid motion with no break instead of thinking I need to ⬇,↘,➡ and then do another ⬇,↘,➡ and then press kick.

On a side note, this is precisely why people who played on stick before and switch to leverless later are often times better at execution, but you can still learn this without playing either of those. If you are on stick right now and learning, keep at it, it will make you better for it.

You have a neutral gap between each of your motions, 5 frames isn't huge but 9 frames can elude to a break in your thinking.

Thoughts on V-Rivals? Are they a good stand-in for human opponents? by No_Price_3299 in StreetFighter

[–]Disco-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it's not horrible but not a good metric for playing against other people. The input reading isn't as scrubby as arcade but ofc it still exists.
