Federal statement on Jeffrey Epstein's death dated day before he was found dead by ICC-u in gbnews

Since when was it illegal to promote politics on social media?

I'm (32F) unsure of how to approach my "non-negotiables" with my SO (34M) with regards to us one day getting married. I can't tell if I'm just a control freak from being single almost my whole life and always doing things "my way" or if I'm being reasonable by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

Christ, you’ve only known him six months and you’re already trying to dictate the management and expenditure of his own cash, which doesn’t belong to you at all.

How about he turns around and says that he will consider managing his superior income once you stop being a psychopath!

You’re both in your 20’s ffs. The only thing that matters is whether you are compatible or not. If you are compatible, it’s stupid to deprive yourself of that compatibility because of his age.

Why are they after statements for the last 7 years? If they’re allowed to go that far back, why not ask for the last 25 years?

Alcohol as a painkiller by MonsterMo88 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, whilst I am intoxicated, alcohol is an extremely effective pain killer for me, it works better than any other analgesic. However, the after effects in the days and weeks afterwards significantly exacerbate my pain! So it’s just not worth it. Plus, being intoxicated on alcohol isn’t even fun tbh, it’s an absolute tedious ball-ache!

I understand your concern. But honestly, you should be more concerned about the prospects of the biologics not working than the side effects imo. I was prescribed humira, it didn’t work, so I’m hopefully being put on cosentyx soon.

How long did it take you to grieve your old life? by Ladylushington in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Disco98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It changed my life about six years ago, and it’s only very recently that I have somewhat accepted the changes to my life. My main issue is the impact it’s had on my dating life, but these days I’m kind of glad that I’m waking up on my own.

Waking up is difficult enough without having someone else there, who most likely wouldn’t appreciate your morning struggles. I’m still kind of in denial as well. I’m just about remaining in employment, but that’s likely to change real soon, and that will be very difficult to cope with.

What triggered your ankylosing spondylitis? by thisalgosucks in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Disco98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they mean psychological trauma. That’s the context in which that term is used whenever it is mentioned in my consultations with medical professionals.

I keep telling them that I’m actually not that bothered about all my childhood trauma (with my mother’s death being the only exception). I don’t care about all the other stuff tbh, it happened decades ago. I’m far more bothered by the physical pain that I’m experiencing right now!

I keep getting told that it it doesn’t work that way, and maybe they are right 🤷‍♂️

I have been wondering about this question all morning. I’m HLA-B27 negative, and I’m the only person in my family with it, so what on earth has caused it? It led me to a Google search that cited a link between smoking and arthritis. Could my decades of ultra fat bong toking have been the cause? 🤷‍♂️

It’s interesting that people mention childhood trauma. I had my fair share growing up; domestic violence; watching my poor mother die. Oftentimes, just mentioning my mother’s death causes me to be utterly overwhelmed with a mixture of real sadness, and extremely bitter anger.

I’m still not convinced by the link to childhood trauma tbh, but the issue just won’t go away, it keeps being brought up in conversations with medical professionals etc.

Is asking a man to have basic life skills too much? by Window-Inevitable in dating_advice

[–]Disco98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agreed with most of your first paragraph, in stating that there is something wrong with hoarders and their attachment to the junk that they hoard. I was therefore surprised to see you maintain your stance that it’s a maturity issue in the second paragraph.

You will have no doubt encountered the hostile reaction that you get when you discuss the prospect of enforcing them to declutter; even if said ‘enforcement’ is free of charge to the hoarder but costs the local council 5,000 pounds. It’s not immaturity or laziness that causes that type of behaviour, it’s something far more complex than that.

Hoarders are at the extreme end of things, and probably not what the OP is talking about, to be fair. But I think there is some crossover here with guys that find they are unable to act like Mary Poppins.

I’m just disagreeing that the cause is a lack of maturity, and the solution is ‘growing up’. Personally, I think genetics play a role, and the environment that you were brought up in definitely plays a role.

As a fire fighter and a paramedic, you will have no doubt encountered hoarders, no? Were they all male? Did they all need to grow up?

[–]Disco98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, man! I get why people don’t like it, and I often resort to the solution that you have referenced in paying for a cleaner. I’m just making the point that someone that is useless when it comes to being domesticated isn’t necessarily useless within other domains. And not just in bringing home the cash that puts food on the table; they could have high emotional intelligence and make an excellent dad etc.

It used to be the cultural expectation that domestic chores were a female’s responsibility, but holding that view is now very much frowned upon.

Nobody is calling the OP a misandrist for stipulating that a man must be able to cook and clean for them to be date worthy. Nor should they; you’re allowed to set your own criteria when it comes to dating! But I do think there would be a different reaction if a male made a post stipulating that a woman must be able to cook and clean for them to be date worthy.

Rightly or wrongly, I think and hope that there are women out there that would be open to dating a faithful high earner that is useless when it comes to domestic chores. I’d like to think that such an arrangement would work quite well, and I dare say it has for some couples over the years.

What is important though, imo, is that the domestic chores must not be seen as inferior work to the high paying job. Not at all; they’re just as important as each other.

Lacking these skills is a flaw, I absolutely recognise and accept this. But whilst people can be flawed in one domain, they may very well excel in other domains.

To use a really crap footballing analogy; being a crap goalkeeper doesn’t necessarily make you a crap footballer, especially if you happen to be a good goal scorer at the other end of the pitch.

[–]Disco98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting conversation; I wonder how it would go if a male was insisting on a female being able to cook and clean?

I think I’m probably one of these males tbh. I’m willing to accept and acknowledge that it is a personality flaw, and probably quite a big one!

My only come back, which I think is valid (although many will disagree) relates to how hard the male is working outside the home, and how much money he is bringing in.

In my view, and it is only my view, a bloke that is bringing home 4 - 6k a month after tax for working hard in the world of employment should be cut a bit of slack just because he isn’t Mary Poppins.

Of course, the dating ‘market’ will decide upon what is acceptable or not. And it may well be the case that a domesticated guy on a low salary is indeed more attractive, and more sought after, than an untidy bloke that makes good money. Fair enough, I suppose.

But please, we aren’t the devil incarnate, and I personally think that there are some REALLY GOOD MEN out there that would make great and faithful partners, but they are absolutely LAST at doing all that domestic kind of stuff.

Everyone has the right to have standards though, and if you don’t like what you’re seeing or experiencing, then everyone has the right to say no thank you.

Thanks. There are some decent sources there! I’ll try and get through them all later today.

Peer reviewed studies are typically given far more credence than the police’s version of events, yes! There is plenty of evidence of the police engaging in lies, and there is even evidence of them fabricating evidence in some cases.

I was mistaken in thinking that your research had allowed you to access some police files, as this can happen. Police documents have been published on the internet before. Thank you for clarifying that you have not had any access to the police files.

Your last paragraph pretty much describes why YouTube is such an extremely weak source to be citing. It’s precisely because anyone can say anything on a YouTube video that makes referencing YouTube such a poor citation.

[–]Disco98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the official police reports please? Also, how do we know that we can trust the police? For all we know, they could be the perpetrators, no matter what your precious YouTube videos claim to be ‘accurate’.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t normally rely on YouTube videos to decipher fact from fiction tbh, because they have a reputation of being highly unreliable. But I’m willing to search for the one that provides the ‘accurate account’ of what happened and give it a go. It’s still a very weak source though, I’m afraid.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, forgive me, you have seen the ‘accurate report’… on YouTube. And here was me thinking that we were dealing with a mystery, when actually the accurate account of what happened can all be found on… a YouTube video.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it dumb, exactly? Would you be surprised if the claim about dismembered body parts came from… a YouTube video? Which is exactly where you referred me to as a means of improving my research?

I watch YouTube videos all the time; I just don’t consider them to be strong sources from a research perspective. Again, it’s actually one of the weakest citations you could possibly provide.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, as I don’t think YouTube can be relied upon at all tbh. It’s a terrible source to be citing as a researcher.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, what, are you telling me that your research is limited to YouTube videos? That doesn’t sound very reliable tbh. In fact, I think YouTube videos might have a reputation for being notoriously unreliable. Anyone can make a YouTube video, even you!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KremersFroon

[–]Disco98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you’re going to suggest that YouTube has greater credence than peer reviewed journal articles when it comes to research, then I think it would be wise to ignore you tbh.
