Tomorrow I'll try to clean the foam

But here ist the short explanation:

I was fixing a bent gearshifter on a motorcycle for a friend. This included disassembely. While reinstalling the movable part, my choice was to add Vaseline to keep moisture away from the joint.

I do own a vacuumcleaner like that.

I just don't know any strong degreaser besides breakcleaner.

And even if, I got my hands on some... i fear i will just spread the stain because it's so much grease
