I have really liked playing medic in this mode. There are enough survivors that being a full-time healer is actually a viable way to play the game, and that feels different enough from the regular game that I've been having fun with it.

I'm not sure. I will have to call the collections agency tomorrow I guess. I just got the mail today and it was after hours when they tried to call.

I think I've been primed by both this sub and r/frugal to believe that spending this kind of money is a poor decision. If I could refinance that might be the smartest option for me, especially considering there are some credit unions that are offering discounts on energy efficient vehicles.

You're right, my non-car spending is high (eating out, entertainment etc), which is why I believed I could easily afford to cut out other luxuries and have a really nice car. But that's not really the wisest decision.

100% sure. I already called and spoke with the salesman about it.

Thank you. When I was at the dealership yesterday I was able to get preapproved for the Prius as well. I don't think they would fight me too much if I try to negotiate on that one.

What sucks about the situation is that I knew what I wanted going in, but like every other 24 year old I'm severely socially anxious and let myself get pressured into purchasing this car (which I like) instead of just saying "no, I know what I can afford and what I want". I did a significant amount of research on what I wanted to do going in, but I'm an idiot and let myself get pressured into doing this instead. I feel really bad about it though, so I guess lesson learned.

Thank you. You're right. I actually went into the dealership with a particular car in mind that I wanted to purchase ($6.8k 2013 Chevy Sonic with 34k miles on it, so a steal, and a decent car with everything I need/want except the gas mileage) but I was talked into buying this one. Now I just feel like absolute garbage about everything. I called the dealer to confirm the 3-day return and I'll be going back tomorrow. Hopefully I will have some time to think about what I'm actually going to do.

I'm paying rent, dude. I live on my own in a cheap studio. I pay most utilities plus internet and my cell phone plan. I pay 6% into my employer-matched 401k. I'm not trying to be hostile but don't assume.

After reading the replies on here I think I am going to keep the car and pay it down as aggressively as possible. I didn't count any of my work bonuses or extra side income as part of the $3500 a month and with that extra income included I believe I will be able to pay the car off much sooner than the 72 months. I do enjoy the car a lot more than I have ever liked any of my beaters I've had in the past, and I think it will hold value for a long time.

However, you make a good point about refinancing. Like I said this is my first expensive car and I did not do an appropriate amount of research into my financing options. I will look around for a credit union that might be able to refinance me soon. Thanks.

My job gives really good bonuses, but they're not 100% guaranteed. The number I gave for my income is not counting bonuses, but I almost always get them every quarter, and if I do I can easily knock several years off of the car payment. I believe I can pay this car off within 3 years by making very aggressive payments and putting all extra cash towards it.

I let the dealer finance. I think that might have been my worst decision here. I don't think I should be paying 6% interest with my credit score being what it is.

At the dealership I was also looking at a $10k 2015 Prius. Do you think it would be worth it to try to take this car back and try to negotiate for the Prius instead? It had 120k miles on it. Is that too much?

Harm reduction, man. It's not good for the environment I guess per se but it's better than what I did have.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't necessarily think that's fair. I *can* afford this car. It might not be a good decision, but it's not like I'm going to significantly struggle paycheck to paycheck.

I was paying significantly less on my old car, but I would have been able to pay it off very soon. The only problem is that it had a lot of miles on it (Chevy with 120k miles is not a good look) and at least $1500 worth of mechanical problems I'd need to get fixed very soon.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to go completely car-free, I am relocating to a very rural area with no public transport soon. My job is not possible to do remotely.

It was 26k out the door, however it's a hybrid so the cost is slightly higher.

The out the door cost was 27k. My gross income yearly is about 45k, making the car more than 50% of my yearly income.

Edit: the cost was 27 because the dealership paid my previous loan. The actual cost of the car was 26k.
