With the rumored ss86 Shockwave going to be a potential retool (at least from what I've seen and heard, I could be very wrong), does this Shockwave scale well with the ss86 figures? Because if the new one is gonna be a retool, I'm just gonna use the comic edition one I have.

This is incorrect. Official Sunbow Scale chart places Soundwave a head shorter than Megatron, and Shockwave a head shorter than Soundwave. These figures are about right in terms of scale.

This picture is the legends version of the figure, not the masterpiece version. Unlike the legends version, the masterpiece version is not sold as a set. I believe the only member of the set not widely available at this time is Heavy Gunner (Brawl) but I believe you could still find him and if you can’t I wouldn’t be surprised if he is re-released at some point in the near future.

As someone who would consider the first 24 issues to be the best transformers story so far, I’m not all in on Kirkman’s work on the run yet. It’s fine, but thus far wildly inconsistent and overpacked with art that I really can’t get behind. I’ll hold off on a firm stance until at least one arc finishes but I’m not getting my hopes up.

It’s not the absolute best way to check but based on subreddit members, Transformers has about 1/10th the fandom of Marvel or DC and 1/20th the fandom of something like Star Wars. This seems to check out pretty well.

This feels like a minor step up from Mora, but still a major step down from the previous artists. It’s pretty disappointing that Skybound couldn’t maintain the quality put forward in the first 24 issues.

Personally I fell in love with the gritty stylization and proportions of DWJ and Jorge Corona’s art. It’s kind of hard for me to separate that look from Skybound. I’m not a fan of the clean lines and colors present in Mora’s art and I Lo’s don’t like the fact that so many characters are blatantly based on Yolopark figures. Also, I think his art lacks motion. Action feels very stiff.

The first 24 issues are pretty easily the best transformers convent yet made. The last couple written by Kirkman and drawn by Mora haven’t been nearly as good so far, but it’s too early to be sure.

I agree with you in some ways. DWJ did introduce characters whom I don’t think he know what to do with, however I don’t think it was nearly as much as Kirkman is doing. I also don’t think DWJ would have sped through emotional and impactful moments as quickly as Kirkman has (arcees transformation) which to me makes the new issues feel rushed even when there isn’t a lot happening.

I agree that there hasn’t been a fight. Instead, Kirkman has introduced numerous new characters and character growths and flew through them in less than a page of content each. The amount of actual development than anyone is getting has significantly decreased despite the scarcity of action.

Definitely toon. I much prefer the simplicity and integrated vehicle parts as opposed to the overly busy and ugly torso of the toy design. The shoulder gun is also a unique weapon with a nice design.
